And Mehzerz, all your links do indeed work properly ^_^  ...I checked :P
I also downloaded some other games I found in there... Didn't even know about that thread till now since it was a bit buried >.<
But you guys are awesome, thanks one and all.
...Incidentally, is there anything like a thank button in the pink petal forums? XD

Samu
Lol, I almost fell for that actually XD
Damn I need some fucking sleep >.<

All righty, so anyways, does anyone know of any games similar to Rapelay?
I heard about it somewhere, and it sounded fun (hey don't judge XD), so I found a copy... aaand I love it.
I mean, it's a little simplistic and redundant, but it's still awesome. >:D

Also, what are your favorite H games of all time? I'm looking for recommendations, so I thought I'd ask what you guys love to play.  :)
Personally, I love Sengoku Rance the most so far, and I really like Slave Maker and Whoremaster. I'm still fairly new to H games though (used to be only into regular porn ??? ), so I'll play practically anything.  :D

there are quite a few games "like" rapelay, but without the rape
and even more "like" it, but without the 3d

for rape and 3d, but not quite like it, try biko 3

There are the Itazura series too (Itazura Real and Itazura Gokuaku), they have the chikan (train moledtation) factor of rapelay.

And, if you don't mind the graphic quality taking a hit, there are Interact Play and Interact Play VR which are the earlier games in the Rapelay sequence.

Personally, I'd go with Itazura Real.

I think rapelay was the first H-Game I tried other then some visual novels, but they aren't really games. *sigh* the memories.

A shame Illusion hasn't improved their game design in years.  The graphics get better and better, but the gameplay hasn't progressed beyond Rapelay.  At all.  Considering how expensive their games are (I believe Artificial Girl 3 was over 10000 yen, or ~100 USD!), it's a wonder they are still in business.

I think Cobra Mission might have been the very first H-game I tried... hard to be sure. I definitely tried a couple VN's, like Runaway City and Fatal Relations at the time, but they were never as interesting as games with actual gameplay. I remember absolutely loving Knights of Xentar when I came across that; Aside from the obvious reason, it uses a combat system that allows you to perform better against enemies the more you learn about them, and the story is hilarious. RPG's have always been a favorite of mine. If someone were to translate D+vine[Luv], they would be my hero.

Pfff, what makes them stay afloat is the H factor... and the fact that even in their lack of gameplay they are still better than their direct competitors (but guess what, Itazura is slowly catching up to them. Once they're similar enough I espect a game war between Itazura and Illusion, that should make their games more interesting ;) ).

It seems to be the story with the whole Japanese game market, not just hgames.  Most good hgames you see these days...are usually small independent made games.  The core game design from big publishers generally haven't improved in years, instead resorting to more and more cinematics to cover up the stale gameplay.  There are exceptions of course, but generally speaking the vast majority of non-h games I play these days are from Western developers.  Even on consoles, the traditional stronghold of Japanese game makers, sees the majority of good games these days being entirely Western made.  The top console RPGs these days aren't the latest Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest, but games from Bioware and Bethseda.

It's like the whole Japanese game industry just doesn't care anymore, and hasn't cared for some time.

Nah, nah. Shin megami tensei games. Nothing's more fun than going into hell, nuking death with Lucifer, then accidentally stopping time and opening up limbo in a high school dorm, fighting off your own imagination with a ninja dog, a 10 year old, Philemon, and a female robot version of pinnochio.
Please treat me well even though I don't deserve it.

Shin Megami games my first was the devil kids series for the GBA, then the persona series, then the Raidou Kuzunoha ones. Trying to get cheap copies of digital devil saga next.  This divison of Atlus always makes good if tough games
REST IN PIECE TOONAMI.
From beginning to the very end I was there. I will never forget.

??? Uhm, woah... A lot more responses than I expected haha XD

So thanks for all the suggestions, I'll try them out. ^_^

DocClox ..Wah? I had no idea there were any earlier games. There's a whole Rapelay sequence?! Haha cool!  8)

necno, I don't really like eroge much... I get really bored XD
The only ones I've really liked were True Love and Nocturnal Illusion-- Though I never finished either, since I can't get them to work on my Windows 7 PC  :(
But I played them at a friend's, and I liked them a lot.

sgb, though I've played few Illusion games, I'll have to agree with you. Especially on your second post.

TF, I've never heard of any of the games you're talking about, but I'll definitely have to check out that Knights of Xentar game. Sounds awesome. I love RPGs myself  ;D

Samu Haha well that would be interesting.

ShiningRadiance  ??? I'm pretty sure you just described an insane dream I had once. Holy shit, wtf. Hahaha that sounds so awesome. Definitely gonna try those out when I get the chance.  :D

try setting up a vmware with an older windows (i'm using one set to japanese instead of applocale for all those games that need japanese language settings :D)
usually works like a charm and isn't really hard to do :)
