Title: "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0150002)"

After a hard drive crash, I have been trying to restore everything. However, after redownloading the latest version, it won't start, instead informing me
"The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0150002)"
I have resinstalled Visual C++ several times and nothing seems to work

You need to uninstall all VC++ packages and install them again. Make sure you download them from Microsoft and not from the third party vendors...
