Title: Steampunk Interface - BETA
Post by: DocClox on October 14, 2009, 11:21:40 AM
I did a bit more work on this:

The panels for the brothel name and the details I made part of the brothel picture. That's a bit wasteful, but it means I can add whatever fripperies I want to the screen. It also means I need to mod the other 5 brothel pics ... can't be helped, I guess.

Still not sure how I'm going to handle some of the other screens. Still, worth persevering with, I reckon.

I love it. I didn't know we were playing the beta for Bioshock 2 thought  :D

I was going for Art Deco, rather than Bioshock as such.. but yeah, it is working out that way :)

I find the fliers most amusing.
I believe they come off as kind of Bioshock-y because it's the closest game to the steampunk aesthetic since Arcanum.

There's quite possible some Bioshock influence creeping in there. I'll also own up to thinking about some of the glorious  layouts Matt Wagner used in Devil By The Deed

Here's a shot of the loading screen for the next version. I wanted to add "Whore Master" and "Welcome to Crossgate" to the screen initially, but couldn't seem to fit it in vertically without everything looking cramped. So, I thought about fitting them into the sides, then the corners, and eventually slanted the buttons to make some room.

Then of course, I find out that Dagoth beat me to the idea. Such is life :)
