For the next version, I'm working on a new way of providing tags for image packs (in this context, image could also be an animation)
The current plan is something like the following:
* The tags will be encoded in an xml file that is distributed together with the images or clips. This means that you can make the pack compatible with the older version by using file names as before.
* There is going to be a fuckton of different tags. The idea is to have a relatively comprehensive set of tags that can describe well what is happening in an image. The game can then choose based on the combination of tags which image to display.
* The choice of images by the game is then as follows:
  Each situation where an image is displayed has a certain (string) code, e.g. "arena-lose-beast" for losing a fight against a beast in the arena. Then there is a config file that describes which tags are relevant for thus image code.
  - There is first a primary tag, which must be a match (primary tags will be something like "fetish", "sex", "tease", "profile", "activity" I think, though that may change), otherwise an image is directly discarded.
  - Then it goes to a list of required tags, and for each of the tags it finds in the image, a certain value (may be negative if you want a tag to exclude an image) is added to the score of the image.
  - If the image score is less than 0, or less than the highest scoring image minus 100, the image is also discarded.
  - For the remaining images, we do the same thing with a list of preference tags, i.e. we calculate a score based on the presence of certain tags. The higher scoring images are then more likely to be selected. In this second phase, a few more tags will be considered, e.g. the game will add tags based on the girls clothes, items, stats, traits etc. Higher scoring images will then have a higher chance of being selected. (I will probably add that an image that has recently been displayed gets a malus, to preserve variety).

The reason for having this first, primary tag phase is twofold:
1) It allows to discared a large amount of image early on, and thus reduces the computation required considerably
2) The system is mainly tuned to work by reacting to the tags you want in your image, so if there were no primary tags, each image type would need to list a large amount of tags with negative scores. With primary tags, this is not really necessary I hope.

The main problem I see with a system like that is that it increases the effort needed to properly tag an image pack in the first place, as some of you are making gigantic packs

sorry for the very late reply, I haven't actually looked through this forum before :)
In general the same girls should work in both versions (with the provision that the old version cannot play the webm/mp4 files)

The new version is more strict in terms of accepting broken packs, though, so if a pack mentions a trait that it doesn't know about, it gives an error. However, the `Brawler` tag should exist, so that seems weird. Maybe you could attach the rgirlsx file of the pack where things go wrong.

I don't know which font was used on the buttons, so the ones I've added look a it different.
The font for the buttons is "Hobo Std", except for the arrow buttons which use the Arial font.

@Shadowfluxthanks for the feedback. Some of the things you've listed should be easily fixable, but others may be quite difficult:

Rearranging menu positions, 2k resultion etc will be relativly easy
Allowing several girl folders, and selecting specific ones per savegame (this is what you want, right) should also be doable.


Thinks that actually require new graphics (like a dark mode) will be difficult, though, since this would require e.g. redoing all the buttons, backgrounds etc. If someone here on the forums provides me with the corresponding asserts, I can add that to the game though.
Even for normal development, the missing graphics are already a problem, e.g. I don't know which font was used on the buttons, so the ones I've added look a it different.

Not sure about the interactions thing, I think originally the idea was to also give the PC levelable stats that would affect this (but I guess the ability to buy even more would still be wanted by some players)

The code is on github, you can modify it with whatever editor or IDE you want. The more challenging part is probably to get it to build under windows.
However, note that many changes that would have required editing the C++ code and rebuilding can be done by modifying XML files or lua scripts in this version. That is still work in progress, though, so there are still many in-game texts that are C++ only.

What hewhocumsbynight said is mostly correct. The repo belongs to Xela, so there is not much I can do about its licensing, although we never intended to prevent people from using Pytfall code: we use private repos when we do. It's just we never bothered to do something about PF license.

Please note that while you can't use the Pytfall repo directly, you can clone or download it to check the source code and understand the game logic. That, however, will require good knowledge of both Ren'Py and python, as I believe that Pytfall is possibly the most complex game ever created in Ren'Py.
At any rate, my packs should be still available for download as well, should anyone want to take a look at their structure.

We have recently switched to Unity (cuz it works much better with almost all types of animations than Ren'Py ever will) and I'm working with TheWorst on another game. I highly doubt we will ever use Ren'Py again.

As for Xela, all of his accounts were inactive for at least 1.5 years, if not more. I'm not sure he's still alive, it's not very common for people to suddenly abandon all their accounts like that.

You are doing great work.

Seen bugs:
1. Can confirm duplication issue when searching streets.
2. One of the streets chats seems to have no end and it throws me into the empty background.
3. Issue with people not going back to work after rest.
4. There is one more but this can wait till I remember it. (It pops an error message during the next turn)

Suggestions:
1. In-Game menu -> move settings and save the game there.
2. Next turn should be available from also from outside buildings.
3. More Settings in New Game creation is great but maybe make it modified settings exportable.
4. Set default interaction count also at the beginning of the game.
5. [email protected] Street and Brothel should have an addition ([email protected] All) that affects everybody but has an even lower chance to happen. For consistency.
6. 2k (1440p) resolution support
7. Better looking UI with dark mode, as usual, people do not play it during the day.
8. Game should allow store REAL girls, 3D and animated separately and allow switch between them or allow choose all via settings.
8a. It should also affect backgrounds. And allow choosing one if all were selected.
9. Interactions could be bought from everywhere or in a shop instead of only at home.
