Modding - few questions
« on: May 11, 2011, 09:33:32 AM »
1.  I had beastilaty toggled to prohibited in the brothel set up yet some of my girls still have beastility encounters using fake animals (that's why I had it prohibited, I haven't captured beasts yet).  How do I resolve this?

2. In the msdos window for the game, it said some girls don't have script triggers.  How do I resolve this?

3.  I made girl files thru the editor tool.  I decided I wanted all files to be on same .girlsx file but I couldn't figure out how.  I was able to upload one file but not others.  Same with random girls.  msdos window shows that those files were recongized by the game as xml.  So I'm puzzled here.

It is not a problem if a girl does not have script triggers, it means more something like "Girl does not have custom script triggers".
Girls don't require script triggers to work, the script triggers are there to make it possible for custom scripts to be called.

You can simply put the girl files in the character directory - they don't need to be all in one file.
If you want to put them all in one file, you can simply load girl file after girl file in the editor - the list should grow each time you load a new girl file, if you are done you can simply safe it like any other girl file. (you should check for duplicates before saving though).

I think this isn't supposed to happen, which game version are you playing?

That's what I was trying to do and the editor wouldn't load other girlsx files :(

the current version  - perhaps I should just reinstall...

EDIT:  I reinstalled and apparently the version I'm on is 593.  I took out all girlsx and rgirlsx files I didn't make via the editor - leaving those that I made via the editor and sure enough the game wouldn't read those files.  Any ideas of what I may have done wrong?  :P

If the girl is set to work the streets she will do whatever she wants to do and doesn't listen the prohibited list.

Ah well, that settles it.  I didn't notice cuz the first time I played the game (I'm new as you can see), I got beasts very early so lifted the restriction.
The editor & girlsx files are driving me nuts although.  I don't get it - I gather pictures, set a folder named after a girl (Gianna Michaels for instance), open up the editor, edit stuff, name the file Gianna Michaels, then save a girlsx file.  What am I doing wrong? lol.

it would help us find out what the problem is if you would upload the girl file you cannot load. and what exactly is the problem?
if the files are too big, mediafire offers free hosting up to a limited amount, without even signing up.

Thanks, I wasn't sure what I could do to better explain.  Here's one pornstar - Gianna Michaels
http://www.mediafire.com/?fd4iu38pb52xiq1
What I did was:

1.  Create a new folder named "Gianna Michaels" which I then filled with pictures.
2.  Opened the editor - named the girl "Gianna Michaels", gave her traits, stats, then clicked save which prompted me to create a file "Gianna Michaels.girlsx"
The game doesn't seem to read this file even if it's in the characters folder.  I took out all other girls and their files and sure enough the game wouldn't read Gianna Michaels.  Instead, it showed there's no girls at all in the game.

Hope this helps you guys better to help figure out what went wrong.
Many thanks in advance.

the problem is that there is nothing for the game to proccess. whe you open up the .girlsx file all you get is this:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<Girls />

Ok - thanks for checkin that out.
My question is why isn't the wmedit file creating those files properly.  I even reinstalled the editor program in case the bundled one was a fluke.

You have to use the "add to List" button after you gave the girl all her stats and traits. Then you can save her.
If you want to change a girl you click on her name in the list to the right, change her stats/traits and then click "update selected".
Hope that clears it up, otherwise we have a strange Bug there.
