Some Suggestions, Some GUI related, some not

1. mscvp100.dll should be included in the download.
 
  GUI Stuff
 
  2. I still have no idea where the price for a girl is displayed on the   slavemarket tab, maybe steal a page from Sim Brothel v1 and display it   on the buy button ?
 
  3. Outfitting (and buying and outfitting) girls with equipment has some issues.
       -Rearranging the display so that stat gains/losses for a girl are shown would help
       -Similar, showing traits/abilities, or only showing benefiting   girls, for example for "Remove addiction" items on girls with
        such an addiction would show up as eligible.
       -An indicator for the like/dislike reaction would be great.
 
  4. Stats should give a brief explanation on mouse over.
 
  5. Events can be skipped to easily by accident.
 
  6. In dungeon:
      -Does leaving them alone raise their health back up ? If not an option to let them heal until x%/full health would be good.
      -What do my actions do ? Is torture used primarily for lowering rebel or for fun and lowering rebel is a happy side effect ?
       The game does not tell.
      -Also, more control over torture would be good, maybe having to match tortures against abilities/stats.
      -What do the other options -chat, ask, force- exactly do ? The only indication the game gives is wether they happen or not,
        what or if any change they effect is not shown.
 
  7. The brothel:
      -Why can't I hire staff to handle jobs like cleaning or security.   All that adds is another lay of management for girls which get
       fatigued and need to be manually rested and reassigned for virtually no return (ie. pic.)
      -The should be some general rules like:
        >If a girls falls below a% Health and/or is more than b% Tired she rests until *condition* and return to her task.
      -Beyond sending a girl to torture for disobeying there does not seem to be a non item-based way to make them more
       reliable.
 
  8. The brothel, the more expansive suggestions
       -Instead of the current task assignment for girls I think something like this would be better

  Tasking
  [ ] Always retain enough freetime to not lose health/gain Tired barring events.
  [ ] Can use items as needed (For example health potion/anti-scar if an event hits her)

     [ ] self
     [ ] other girls
  [ ] can utilize special skills (For example: Jana is a smith, with this enabled and enough freetime assigned she can craft items
       for you, which may cost money or other items)
  Time spent (in percentage)
  25 % of the time do whoring in brothel
  10 % ott do whoring on the street
  15 % ott strip
  10 % ott wait in bar
  10 % ott amuse gamblers
  20 % ott train
  10 % ott what she wants
 
  Disallow sex practice
  [ ] No *all the stuff*
  [ ] No snuff/guro (Always checked, un-uncheckable*)
 
  *Unless A) The player is an horrible, horrible asshole and manually enables in option screen/the game files or
               B) The player has access to either commercial healing   services which can handle that (He should pay through the nose
                   for that no profit at all, huge loss) or
               C) Has his own high level mages/priest who can cure that. (Getting an Mage capable of stomaching that practice
                   however would be a feat in itself.) also
               D) girl has trait which allows her to survive that (Immortal, for example on a monstergirl - werewolf ?)
 
  To describe this option as carrying huge penalties should be a huge understatement. For one you do it once and be prepared
  to get bumrushed by law enforcement and heroes. Girls assigned to the same brothel get huge (hidden) bonuses to rebel and
  will try tp preferably kill you, then flee.
  Obviously just because a girl fullfills the requirements for D) does not mean she enjoys it and such requirements should only be
  fulfilled on girls which are an formidable threat to the player(s business). That priest and mages you're using heal and/or veil
  the location from the law need to be high level too. And just because the obeyed you until then does not mean they will after
  that. See 9. on why it should be a bad idea to let high level mages   rebel. Obviously the right traits and abilities on C, D and a
  lesser extent B are very important on all involved.
  C, D should offer moderate amounts of profit and huge potential blackmail (Against you, too, btw.)
  A offers huge profits but surviving more than a month is unlikely.
  B offers no profit, blackmail (I think A happens to early for the player to the sort pull and customerbase to either get good
     blackmail or make use of it.) and mainly the opportunity.

  9. Magic
      Mages (and Priests) should become more powerful with their level. At beginning some very weak benefits like a of bit
      emergeny healing there at little illusion here and so. As they get more more powerful they can do more, temporary
      transformation into beasts for customer or girls, some mindbreaking for new arrivals, healing any single girl, reducing rest
      needs greatly and so on. On the highest levels magic user become absolute beasts in their chosen specialisation - total body
      mods ? Have right mage and no problem. Fuckery with time ? See have the right mage. Summon succubi directly from hell
      and enslave them ? No problem. Hypnotize entire girl schools into service ? Done.
      The problem is that if your mage is not really absolutely loyal (and obident) to you you never get such an mage because they
      are gone before level 10 - If you're lucky. If you're unlucky they toasted your ass on the way out. Or the town. And no,
      submission items and such should not work. Way I see it they either render the mage unable to be a mage at all ot lose
      their effect as the mages becomes more powerful. So you can only get a high level mage by manually assuring their loyalities
      through personal attention which would require paying attention to their persona as defined by their traits, fetishes and
      characteristics. (If you don't there should be a very good for the mage to run away)
 
  10. Combat
     While not as powerful as mages, combat girls should function along much the same lines. With enough high level combat girls
     you could take over the globe. Or send a powerful strike team so capture high value targets, ie. "Queen of *race*".
     Or stop pretending to be a brothel owner and get work on making the world you own personal harem. 
 
  11. Catacombs and player.
     Would it be possible for the player to take an active part in catacomb and other combat missions ? Because that would
     necessiate stats for the player character and would make my ideas in 9 and 10 a lot more feasible, it also would give the
     player an more active part.
 
  12. Torture and speciality rooms in brothels.
     Option to individually alter rooms with custom equipment. In a brothel such rooms would be restricted in their use by
     equipment in them and the fetishes and abilities of the girls working in the brothel. Some rooms would get used on specific
     order by the player - either because of huge profits or to punish for wanting use it *cough*snuff*cough*.
 
  13. More Monstergirls.
     Please increase the variety of monstergirls and other non humans. That is all. Distinguish them by traits as well. (For
     example: Nonhuman - Naga)
     I don't give an exhaustive list because, well, my motto in that   regard is "(In my fantasy) Gotta fuck them all - A furry is fine
     too".
 
  14. Some more fetishes served
    Amputees, breathplay (Most people class those in snuff/guro, I don't. I don't like amputees in progess and I dislike wasting a
    perfectly good girl. Why I made that huge part in 8. about it, well it   is an option you should have as an particular evil brothel
    lord and the evil path a game being more accurately described as slightly dickish at best is an pet peeve of mine).
    General body mods (dickgirls, multi tits, conjoinment), scat and watersports.
 
  15. More pictures.
    The torture and the ask/force dialog options could do with some illustrations.
 
  After all those words, I have to say that I like this game. I may not   have figured out how turn an reliable profit yet or what stat boost are   actually the best but it is fun. And while it has vast room for   improvements it also does a lot of things right.
 
  You're already better than the one commercial game I bought in this genre. OTOH saying something is better than...

I wanted to comment on this part because I think it's indicative of a broader problem with the girl details screen. Thats a lot of info that starts to blend together when sifting through multiple girls. Maybe color coding different details might help alleviate the clutter a bit without the need for redesign.

Also, Girl price is in the stat section on the upper left hand side, should be under Happiness and is labeled as "Worth".

Some good ideas here. Some of them made before, and some likely to be controversial, but still some good ideas.

Main thing you need to know here is that we're winding down active development of the game as of a week or so back. necno would like to see the game finished, and there was in any event a certain amount of disagreement as to how to move things forward. Which is a long winded way to say that a lot of what you've suggested isn't going to happen any time soon.

That said, a lot of it should be doable with mods by the time I finish, and I expect there'll be bug fixes and minor tweaks for some time to come.

And I think I'm going to have to leave that there for now. I feel a bit bad for not giving a more detailed reply, but I'm too tired to do it justice right now. Maybe later.

kinda related, but will the interface system change with .lua?
cause, I messed with the .xml config files, and you can do some pretty awesome things with them, but the problem is that there are some screens that work with plain .txt files, and I can't find a way to add more elements into them (and I think the report screen doesn't even have a config file)

if it won't change, is there a chance of adding .xml files for all screens?

The Lua screens are going to be the same as the XML ones, expect that you'll be able to embed lua scripts to handle events like clicking on a button. If you've ever done any javascript coding, you'll be familiar with the idea.

That means you'll be able to add your own buttons. And screens. And change what existing buttons do, if you want.

I don't personally plan to convert the remaining screens to XML, (gotta draw the line somewhere) but by the time I'm done you should be able to replace them yourself using XML and Lua.
