Girl Image Filename Extensions.

Not really a bug but a curiosity.

I've noticed some pack creators left images in png or gif format but renamed the images as .jpg (didn't convert though)

Through testing, I've also noticed that WM has no problem rendering these images.

Haven't actually tested if files with extensions of .png or .gif work, but I'm guessing no since pack creators are renaming  them.

So I guess the point of all this is, Do we need to go through the work of renaming png and gif to jpg? Will WM render those files? Or should we really be converting the image to jpg because we are getting lucky?

Could rendering of gif and png files that where named jpg be causing problems with WM we aren't aware of? (Random crashes?)

Just curious about all this.

I think it only works because the game looks for sex.jpg, so when you rename it that you are using quick fix. the game doesn't "support" .gif .png images because it doesn't look for them.

myself I just open paint and resave them as .jpg files

I believe flair is correct, I personally alter all of mine because changing the .whatever to jpg doesn't work for me. (Windows 7 may have something to do with that) So I go into photoshop and convert them there, which in turn I also reduce their image size. Existing jpgs I keep the same though.

No, he's just saying he doesn't get why pngs and gifs don't work. Because a lot of girls with images that were originally pngs or gifs just had the extension of their image changed to jpg. Meaning that they're still gifs and pngs but the extension is jpg.


The main reason (I'd assume) is just that the game looks for the .jpg or .jpeg before using it in the game. So when you put a gif in there it completely ignores it. The reason there isn't gif and png compatibility is a completely different explanation.
