Hello,
Mute Lovestone here,
Today i am proud to inform you that i am Building Whore Master Evolved.
Whore master evolved originally was going to be a port, but then i decided im going to make it into its own game
WM:Evolved will run on the xna framework.
currently the game is close source,
which i hope doesn't bother anyone
I have decided to keep the Game Closed source
be warned this is a free project so i will not always be working on it, but i will work on it as much as i can
I have decided to make this the only current game project i will be working on that way i can finish features in a timely fashion

actualy now that i transfered over the gui now i will have no issues, mostly atm what is taking my time is that i am trying to figure some ways to expand it to add more stuff in

my next update will have some gameplay, basicly it is easy to tell what has been done by looking at version Version = a.b.c.d
a=Massive update of gameplay
b=smaller update of gameplay
c=Large bug fix
d= smaller bug fixes
(so if you only want to test bugs of gameplay wait for a version change in the a or b range
but if your wanting to keep checking what ive done check for any change)
FYI the update i did was 1 to update the game with the new main menu gui i have and 2 to try to fix a problem another player was having

Dunno, who you chose XNA (probably monogame if you want to port) instead of something that allows you to make things incredibly faster in design mode and still can be portable.
For example: Godot Engine(GDScript/C++), Unity3D(C#/JS) etc.
The most important element of this game is GUI. It requires a lot of implementations of controls/widgets of all kind. If you don't have good GUI system, then you're fucked up at start of coding.
Also it would be great to easily port this game to android/ios.
It's good that you do something.
However later you will complain, that you only waste time on things that you could do faster by using more advanced tools.
Don't reinvent the wheel...
If only i hadn't a commercial project, i would be prone to help.

I just want to somehow warn (that's probably wrong word) you.
If you do this for learning purposes - it's ok, but if you do this for anybody else, you should don't run before you can walk.

I don't blame you for XNA. I would be hypocrite if i do that.
I have got almost 2 years experience with XNA and i felt comfortable with it.
It's sad that it's not longer supported.
I just wonder why you chose XNA instead of Unity3D (if you prefer C#) or even monogame (it's almost the same architecture as XNA, with great support).
If by game size you mean the files size.
It's pretty simple way to reduce that size, for example data compression.
Simple zip should significantly reduce size without high impact on loading.
If by game size you mean that the project scale is too big.
It's because you're using low level tools.

im sorry im a little new here, i have really gotten into the WM series. I just downloaded the WM evolved that you just updated just now, and i open up the game, and i hit on new game, i can cant hit the "ok" button to start the game. I'm not sure if i've done something wrong myself, or what, i was just asking to see if that is an issue.

i have decided i will not do small beta releases insdead i will do a large release once the following features of finished
1) starting brothel
2) 2-5 ways of getting new girls/beasts
3) Unique and random girls/beasts
4) a working inventory and item shop
5) A large amount of gameplay
6) stat system incorporated into the game
7 a large update to the girls/player/game/configure data

I must say that i understand your decision with wanting to have something to show.
As for ways of getting new girls do you want some suggestions?? If yes i have some for you if not just ignore this words:
- First i feel it's to easy in current version of WM to gain girls from dungeon, I propose to change how the dungeon works.
- First the dungeon is resetted every few weeks.
- Second the dungeon has a logical structure of graph successful raid on dungeon means you cleared one path from begin to end node, in end nodes there are treasures (or new girls which loot your chest and need to be punished into slavery or they join willingly to you in that case you don't need to fight them), also there is possibility that end node is cleared (by you earlier or enemy). On non-end nodes you fight with random enemy, have clear path or run into treasure hunters of you rival (and it's the hardest possible fights if they are in full strength), in a case when you lost you gain nothing, in a case when you win you loot from enemy some gold (amounts depends on type of enemy).
- Third When there is reset in dungeon (in game logic it will be when new dungeon is available to exploration) the tree of nodes will be resetted and created from zero
- Fourth The level of dungeon are different some dungeon might be easy to clear and some you must send a bunch of experienced adventurer to clear them.
- The last introduction of new traits to help girls to find their way through labirynth (traits for increased chance of better item from chest, increase in possibilty to run into other girls and possibillity of abduction them, increase a chance for negotation with girls to join your side, decrease chance of run enemies in node etc.).
- Second way to gain new girls is through aquire them as free woman by paying theirs debt (it will be run by PC if he choose to do some walk in the city, also need ability to see girl stats before paying her debt, also much costly then buying her as slave)
- Third way is through are, when our contestant wins the tourment we get a prize (item/slave)
- Fourth way is through kidnappig girls from rivals
- Five way when one of our rival is dying her girls will search for new home
- Six add possibility to gain unique girls through birth.
Also i have a question on screen you show us i saw a gender of player so must ask is there a possibility that we can play as nymphomaniac as women means we can also work in brothel or use male slaves to have sex etc.?

If we are just trowing ideas, I've always wondered if catacombs/dungeon option could be cloned and reskin for more evil player characters types of playing. I mean if you could send your gangs to attack a village/town/"fortress of the good". From a mechanic point of view it would work just like the catacombs but instead of "monsters" you would have "soldiers" as opponents and instead of beast girls you would have peasant girls (common), noble women/priestess/high ranking officer women (rare) , princess (extremely rare) and queen (unique per town/castle or whatever) to capture. You cold even have a counter on the player character page and tracks how many peasant girls/noble ladies/ princess/ queen you kidnapped/ enslaved/ ransom/freed (depinding on what you plan to implement as options in the game). I read in another thread that you want to implement wifes (not my thing if they are not slaves) but you could force the princess to marry you (as an option for good characters, the evil ones would just enslave her and her mother and make them slave wifes at best). :)
Of course it doesn't have to be just a village (level 1), town (level 2 difficultly ), city, castle, fortress but also forest for those oriented on capturing elves/witches or for the really strange players the option to raid and orc/minotaur camps (no ladies for the taking just loot).
I believe exploring a catacomb or raiding should yield some interesting finds once in a while. Also, it would be great if we would get a notification somehow when they capture someone important. I'd really wanna know when and what gang did that. It would be fun for story wise.

Well currently gangs have the option to kidnap women and the bring to the dungeon. Also, the player character has the option to enslave those women. That's braking the law in a massive way. Also, somehow I never felt restricted by the background story it didn't seem to matter much game-wise.
Anyway, I'll wait for Mute to show the document explaining the general lines and limits of the game. :)

You never have to fight with any representatives of law, only with monsters and other gangs. I suppose there are no witnesses, or these enslaved women are too insignificant. You can't kidnap a queen in the same way while being a simple brothel manager.

Hmmm ill have to think about that, but i belive that i will end up adding that as a sub system of the room management system

that some traits will speed up the child development Ie NonHuman
i was also planning on making a room that can be bought that will speed up the development of any children placed in the room
and you can set options like, sell child at birth, as well as use spells on the building to further speed up the growth rate of children

daughters= 2 posibilities
1) A version of the girl that gave birth
2) a random character
Random Character packs= Simple answer, yes

Interesting. I never thought about using the very same unique girl, but with random name and traits.
Also, in theory it's possible to build two versions for some random packs, for young (loli) and adult characters. It will take more time than usual, of course.

1) Yea the game will handle the whole part
2) Not really, i can build it into the editor so that when it created a Adult character it will build a Loli Version of the game character
Although with that, i will have to build a handeler to handle loli, or i have to allow loli in the game, although currently it is built to allow loli but only with the use of a command line,
I will do some research and find out the exact laws on loli where i live

If any free girl can leave you anytime depending on pure random, I'm afraid that people will avoid to use them, no matter their advantages. Usually there are stats like disposition and joy that prevent girls from leaving as long as they are high. They also might want higher salary at higher levels even being happy, so there could be an option to to increase it.

although they can leave they can also return, that is why they are free, they have freedom of choice,
But about increaseing income, that was one of my planned hidden features, one that wasnt going to show up in general outline

For pregnancy, I'd suggest giving the daughters a 50-90 percent chance on each of her traits (rolled for each trait seperately!) to inherit it. So some may fall off, others may be randomly added by the game. That way, you can also introduce a "breeding" aspect, where players try to breed for extremely rare, untrainable, but highly desirable traits. And since they're all females and we have little control over the daddies, there'd be no option to crossbreed! So that would rule out "overpowered" girls. Also, keep any such traits out of any game-editors, and just give a slight chance to assign such traits upon girl creation, no matter if it's a unique or a special girl.

Well, at first when I thought of the trait inheritance, I figured 90 percent would be neat. But, then I thought it might be a bit much, since there's also supposedly some "daddy genes" involved, which should negate some of the chance. So now I think it should be lower, but that 50% might be a bit too low for it to remain fun. So, I'd test such a feature a few times, get a sense of how the traits get inherited, and tweak the overall percentage until you're satisfied.
It's been ages since I did any math with bell-curves and such, but if you remember how to do em, it might help. You'd want to end up with daughters generally being very similar to their mothers, but rarely identical, and rarely unrecognizably different. Well, not only will it be randomized, but the chances raise as the girl's stats rise, thier are stats(yes i am going extreamly fantasy here) that increase the chances of getting positive traits, but also lowers negitive traits
but the traits really wont be what makes each girl special, it will be the stats :)

1) it means that when you turn a girl into a pet you get to fully choose which stats to upgrade her stats at level up
2) i honestly have no experience with it, but im planning on doing a kickstarter and a pateron

If you plan on getting donations you might want to be careful with what art you use in the game. If you dont have the artists permission there might be trouble.
Fan games are one thing but when money starts getting involved things change. Just something to think about.

Just read through the forum, and would like to comment on some of the things discussed;
1. Dungeon ideas (page 3, by dullman)
-- Maybe instead of having dungeons reset, dungeons can appear and disappear depending on time, and if you took/destroyed/whatever the 'core' (the core could be a boss or something.
-- In the old WM, I got a feeling that dungeons were kinda a portal to another world, so what you were doing was raiding places there, eg something like Gate: Thus the JSDF Fought There (it's a novel, but has a manga adaption)
2. Ways to get girls.
-- Building: Cyborg, Android, Homunculus, etc
-- Depending on laws and such, raiding villages/tribes/etc, joining wars, etc
3. Not sure what to call this, but uhh, Empire(?) & royalties/nobles(page 4, by Romanul); there are some ways you could go about this.
-- Take my example on portals to another world for example, you could raid other worlds and capture their royalties and such.
-- There was also my point on joining wars.
-- Or you could bribe people to kidnap, and sell, you royalties/nobles, this was you legally own them, but the process wasn't so 'legal'.
These to are way too ambiguous/ambitious
-- Also, maybe once you get enough 'power' you can try to take over, and go full world conquest XD (Could be tied to 'New Game+')
-- There is also the whole dungeon master idea.
4. Rooms and capacity. (page 4, by dullman)
-- Hmm, yeah rooms, and beds, should only be big enough for X amount of people at a time, and with the whole building, where they can only provide for X amount of people, due to time and such, makes it more realistic.
5. Jobs depending on buildings (same as 4)
-- I'm thinking this suggestion came from Sibr1x, where depending on what type of building you have (like kitchen, bar, gambling den, dungeon, etc), there are more options for what girls can do.
6. Pregnancy & Child rearing/raising (page 4-5)
-- So, you have a room that speeds up time, but no potion that accelerations/reverse age/body growth? I'm pretty sure it's possible, since I've read stuff online about it all being in the hormones produced, and there are even animals (jellyfish mainly) that can do this. Though if you you use the item, there might be more drawbacks, like mind of a child (naive, and such), but it'd allow quicker 'usage'.
7. Genetics (page 6)
-- This is pretty neat, and there are quite a few games with this, an example is breeding season.
-- Anyways, I'd probably say it's harder then it looks, as you'll have to set up 'profiles' for all the male costumers as well (idea came from succubus brothel)
-- Also, there are regular games, which uses... what was it called... well, you know that two by two chart you studied in biology. Anyways, pretty much each 'parent' has a pair for each 'trait', and there are dominate and recessives :p
Anyways, here's a new idea: New Game+. Pretty much, restarting the game with bonuses, could be anything: such as points to spend on bonuses (think selection of background and traits); depending on what you do/how you play, gain stuff; etc
