Hello and greetings
« on: May 24, 2010, 07:46:58 AM »
Hello and greetings.
I want first to say that i am amazed by the job done on this game and the dynamism of it community.
I have tested the 1.30 version and until now found no crashes or major bugs i could see, else  while a mission where i was given around 150 000 gold.
I think that the game is at a crossroad. technicaly all is near  present but so much girls ( never had the need to use the slave market, got no death, no runaway) , too much manipulations when they are tired and too few to do that  really give thrill and challenge.
   Here are a few suggestions.
Customization and creation of the owner at beginning.
Man, girl, futanari. Choice of an apparence, of qualities,  of advantages ( better training, better combat, gestion and else). Being a girl myself i would like to be able to play  a woman ( even if it need to use magic, potions, items for being able to train or impregnate girls)
Training would be done by the  owner, as he or her would go  with some girls to catacombs.
Mansions could  be specialized, bar, casino, brother, hammam  and upgradables.
The shop too could be splited in specialized ones, with pics of the owners and be place too for rummors.
Catacombs could appear after talking about rumors, there could be sewers, catacombs,  old haunted mansion, forest, temple.... Each of them could host different kind of monsters, treasures and special girls.
The rivals in town could each have  a boss with pic and personnality.
Why not to add diplomacy for peace, exchanges of runaway slaves, gifts and else ?
Capturable business could now be targeted, some zones of the town being more rich,  or more suitable for some business, or being where are your mansions. This would introduce diplomacy and events.
It should be more events with choices to do
Some girls could have their own events, own stories, there could too have  random stories and events( for exemple rivalries for the love of the owner, or hate between too girls and else...). All girls dont like to make love with men, less like to be lesbian, a lot less bdsm or less animal sex. We could have options to keep girls at some kind of sex or to forbide some kind of  sex girls by girls.

There is more  but  all this, is just suggestions.
Once again grats on the job.

Add
Another interesting possibility is to replace gangs by commandos of girls, it would introduce captures of your girls, rescues and else , same for ennemies.

Everything you've suggested... has well, been suggested already at some point. That's not to say the post isn't welcome, just something I think you should be aware of.

The reason the main character is male is so you can impregnate the girls with your own child. Since this feature has been in the game from pretty much the beginning it's been decided early on that the MC would be male. You never actually see the MC he's essentially "you" I suppose that since you're a girl it may be a bit off putting, but I suppose the writing could be more genderless. (then again I don't recall any writing currently existing in the game that says the gender of the MC anyways)

I had always liked the idea of the MC having alterable stats as well. As the game currently is, "he" does have stats, but they never change. I think they only alter the stats your daughters have anyways.

Scripting system is in the plan, so events and stories would eventually be implemented, can't say on the different monster areas but I doubt it. Not that they're really needed. Doc mentioned that he'd like to see the map split into regions. If this came into effect then maybe... but then that'd change how girls are created to adjust these new areas. (Something I'm sure most would like to avoid)

I think what a lot of people aren't realizing is that the game is going through a lot of system changes. Changes you don't really "see" this essentially means cleaning up the code, re-working the engine, adding a new one. (don't quote me on anything in this next segment. I am no coder) WM has been through a few of them, I believe it started as a C# experiment necno was playing with. When Doc came in it went from an XML system. (which a lot of the game is in now) Now Doc is working on adding the Lua engine, and eventually necno would like to put it under another engine.

So, it seems development is definitely elsewhere at the moment. The job system isn't complete yet, and the building system isn't even semi-up. There's plenty on the to-do list it seems, just not enough time to any of it. Not to mention they all seem to have lives, unfortunately. :p

Also, this thread should be in "New Features"

(Take everything I said lightly. This is all from what I've gathered on the forums.)
Starter girls image additions progress:
26 girls, 18 to go

I understand that  things may have been said at a moment or another, this was just suggestions.
About the owner gender and customization it would add spice and self immersion in the game. About the gender i understand that it would add coding for  customized answers.
But  all theses things  can come with time, when you are happy with what have been done and search to make it be deeper.
is there a thread where you detail the game platform you used to create it ? As i do since a few moment searchs for creating my own game.

I know that  most people will always ask more, and usually be just leechers.
You done a great job on the game coding and mecanisms, my feelings is that it now need a turn  toward more interactivity and player choices and yes more customization of the player character.

sorry for the broken english, it is not my native language.

I'm sure we're all delighted to have the input.  Welcome to the forum :)

Game platform is C++ and SDL. We're not using any game engines or frameworks, other than what we (mostly necno) have developed locally.

That said, if you want something that can be customised to produce your own games, take a look at the clonemaster branch in svn. That's my pet project to take the graphics aspects of WM and factor out the game logic and data into Lua and XML. As an engine, it's just about usable (at least if you don't mind writing a lot of Lua) but the documentation is rather lacking, and the proof of concept S/F WM clone I'm writing is still in its early stages.

Depending on how easy/difficult the game would be to mod and with the knowledge of the C++ skill, you could basicly exchange playing as a "male" to playing as a "futanari" character, but there would have to be a few more changes added.
But it's better to wait until the game is finished first.

Besides, I have to finish the Morrowind project that I started first, before I'll continue my studies in the C++ language
And don't worry, your english is fine :)

Edit: Looks like DocClox beat me to it

Same here. I just noticed that I last posted anything regarding the morrowind mod (Project X: The New Cult) since september last year  :o So it's about time that I install the rest of the mods that I use and get to work (not to mention going through the modding guide again)

Thanks for the link
The lack of documentation will make that i will have to search all around as i am technically challenged :) but it not  afraid me to search, being a librarian bring some skills in searching documents.
My project is globaly a rpg with the graphical look  of  whore master, cute knight or slave maker, more a  huge click and point with use of a lot of random events and encounters.
