Not saying anything HAS to be done, but I do have suggestions.
About fixing some girls, I've been messing with that quite a lot with this huge mod I'm working on atm. It seems like over 50% of girls have Quick Learner, which should practically always go unticked whether the girl is smart in the show/game or not as it is a game-breaker trait. For some reason a lot of the non-sexual girls also have Nymphomaniac/orgasm/etc skills even though they shouldn't (look at Sakura Hinamoto....WTF). Then there is incorporeal - even the touhou girls shouldn't have that. A final, much more minor trait issue is that I noticed people want to click every single fighter trait no matter if it makes sense or not when a girl is a fighting girl, just to boost those traits.
Statistically, it's balanced to only keep a girl down to 20 MAX at a stat, and let their traits boost them past that. It does prevent a few girls from being able to be a whore right off the bat (Mari Illustrious Makinami for example), but she only needs to get some equipment to fix that right up. Same goes for combat stats - it's simple enough to just equip 2x main weapon/2x small weapon/armor/add books as needed, so we don't need to start every fighter girl with 70+ in combat stats.
But the main issue for balance is that it's way too easy to get to 100 on your stats/skills without really even trying. This is a core gameplay issue that cannot be fixed without client modding.
Picture size - the game never displays anything above 800 wide by 600 tall pictures. Actually, it virtually never displays that full width so anything above 600x600 becomes extra filesize for no reason. Now, resizing pictures is just a pain in the butt, so I found a program to automatically do it. -

You just set what size you want the entire folder's max res to be and have at it. While I just said 600x600 is all you need, it's still better to go with 1000x1000 or 800x800 as your maximum resolution. Working with this program, I've found it reduces most girl packs in size by over half or more while still retaining roughly the exact same picture quality in-game. The only problem with it is it only detects .jpg and not .jpeg, so you might have to rename your .jpegs into .jpg.
Yet another problem with girl pack filesize is that for some reason people keep just renaming their .png files into .jpg . I'm assuming they still work in the game, but if people could be bothered to just manually convert the picture, you're looking at going from a 500 kb to 1 mb picture down to about 100-200 kb, a huge savings in size.
Oh, a last tip for duplicates - when they aren't obvious, one trick to help weed them out is this: In windows at least, switch your folder view to alt button->View->Details. Now click the "size" header so that all the pictures are arranged by filesize. Open up a pic so you're in the windows picture viewer thing and very quickly cycle through them. Duplicates often have the same file size, so you can easily locate a lot of them this way if you're willing to put the time into it.

I agree about "Quick Learner", it is not a good idea to release a lot of girls with that trait. About sex/battle related traits is another question since not all girls have decent descriptions online and watching all of the shows is not realistic. Maybe we can handle it in a different way: create discussions about specific shows so people who actually watched them can offer advice on traits and skills, then I simply add edited file to separetly from a file that includes pictures and the original girlsx. I will remove "incorporeal" from all girls without question, I agree with you here completely.

I will handle resizing the images if there is demand for slimmed down girlpacks (Enough people post here before I start). More people tend to download original sized pics judging from downloads of packs that I've made.

Renamed .png is what I've meant by "Properly". I know how to track renamed .png down :)
4) Properly convert all files to JPEG format.
I've tried that with duplicates but it didn't work for me. Doubles are not obvious in large packs and there are often to many files of the same size to work with. I will try my best but the most important thing is to prevent issues like having two or three copies of every single file in the pack (There was a bunch of those in the original AGL).

It isn't difficult at all, actually. Traits bloat those stats far above 20 without even starting on adding equipment, which the girl does on her own anyway.

Over half the girls in the list I have already have over 50 in Looks with no gear, no anything except a starting 20 on her stats and her base traits. Once you start buying items - several of them in the base whore master game practically max out her looks with a single use - it becomes extremely easy to max out the Looks stat even when a girl starts with 0 as her Looks.

It isn't difficult at all, actually. Traits bloat those stats far above 20 without even starting on adding equipment, which the girl does on her own anyway.
I sort of speak from experience. I usually play very long turns, girls I don't care about that have looks below 60 and low constitution are left behind for a very long while. I'll start a game and try it out just in case right now, to see how long it will take for a girls of different stats to develop and then post my conclusions.
Over half the girls in the list I have already have over 50 in Looks with no gear, no anything except a starting 20 on her stats and her base traits. Once you start buying items - several of them in the base whore master game practically max out her looks with a single use - it becomes extremely easy to max out the Looks stat even when a girl starts with 0 as her Looks.
? That kind of depends on what you have in your items list. If you have cheap items that can boast beauty and charisma, it's easy. If you have the original or a well though through items list, it's a lot harder. In fact, you will not be able to raise Beauty from 0 or 20 significantly for a large number of girls with the original item list during the whole game, items that cover it are rare and Beauty doesn't go up easy (Or at all) from training/actions.
Constitution is another stat difficult to raise and I had a large number of girls with low looks and const actually killing my game (Forcing to cut spending on gangs in the beginning of a round, forget buying them items).

Once again, items are expencive and girls with low looks that can only attract a very limited number of costumers and a low constitution that will top that with frequent resting times is what can delay a game greatly, if not make it difficult.
I am not convinced of that, judging from my own gameplay, situation is different but it will require testing. About "Sex" game, I seriously doubt that there is a lot of people that forgo character building in WM. There are to many superior "Sex" games out there featuring both Original and Well known character that are superior to WM, I always though that the attractive part of WM was a combination of a large number of well known character with a system that allows stat buildup and a decent amount of interaction.

I think you should leave most things as-is for the vanilla stuff, honestly, other than dropping all the obviously overpowered stuff. If a custom unique girl has 100 in all stats, I guess there might be balance issues! Other than that it becomes debatable.

I did some testing over a period of 20 weeks:

This gives an idea on how game progresses. Service skyrocketed in all but the first two scenarios, rest of the stats didn't show abnormally high increases.
You can imagine what will happen if you try to limit ALL stats to 20 with vanilla items list where all items that significantly increase Const and Looks cost about the same or even more expensive than a slave.
Right now I am trying to think of a table of "range" for each of the stats. Since "Beauty" cannot be increased from training and I think there is only one "Vanilla" Item that increases it, we can assume that increasing "Beauty" and lowering "Constitution" for most girls is a good idea.
Actually I think we need to add a number of item files and Random Girl packs to the AGL... It will go a long way to improving the game. Also, maybe offering two girlsx files is a good idea, for example edited version will be Ace Attorney.girlsx and original will be Ace Attorney.original and people can use the original if they so desire...

Stats:
30 - 75 for Beauty
10 - 30 for Charisma
10 - 50 for Toughness
80 - 100 for Intelligence
10 - 50 for Libido
5 - 40 for Obedience
30 - 80 for Spirit
10 - 80 for Agility
20 - 80 for Confidence
Skills:
All in range below 20. If a girl is a clear type, we can allow 30.

You can take a girl from 0 to 100 beauty by stacking some rings of beauty, which aren't especially difficult to obtain by regularly exploring the catacombs, which itself only requires 40ish combat or magic skill. Girls will naturally max out their beauty just by leveling up, or come very close to maxing it. In the meantime you can try spamming the makeup temp items or simply using the especially ugly girl on other jobs.
Hmm....I'll see if I can retrofit this girl's list so you can check it, but traits alone push many girls over 60 beauty when she has a base of 20. If a girl has no beauty traits, I don't see the problem with her being an ugly girl who can't be an effective whore. I mean if a girl doesn't have boobs/ass/figure (assuming the anime character also doesn't have those), that's the problem right there and not somehow needing a handicap to overcome the fact that the character isn't naturally sexy in the canonical fiction she comes from.
Edit: forget that, too much effort. Let me post the tentative trait list I'll be using in my first release, which is pretty far along. It's about 80-90% accurate for the vanilla version of WM, but I did modify several traits and IIRC some are bugged to add instead of subtract in the official version, but I forgot to note which ones. This file list will of course _not_ work if anyone wants to use it in their WM because you will get lots of issues all over the place. Anyway, it shows most of the stat/skill changes of all the traits in WM. As you can see, they factor very heavily into the stats a girl has and should in my opinion be the only real source of character variety for a starting girl. (attachment)
I mean it's rather silly at the moment. Most people when they make a new girl will either pick traits completely at random, pick all the sex traits because, y'know, sex traits, or they will pick something that they think is accurate. Well that last example would work perfectly, except almost no one realizes the traits actually add to a girl's stats too, so they overcompensate by giving her extra beauty etc and bloat the living crap out of a girl's stats. The traits themselves already have their stat boosts figured out, so I'm personally against compensating with more +stats.
Also it's kind of lol - Lolita actually adds a _lot_ to a girl's look stat, so when she passes I think it's age 21, she loses that trait and becomes a lot "uglier" overnight.

Whenever I play WM with vanilla items list, I have to few Rainbow Rings no matter how many girls hit the catacombs... In any case, I think keeping Charisma and Constitution down will compensate for high Beauty, but I'll try checking girls before releasing packs.
I'll wait a day or two to see if anyone else has something to add and then start working on packs.

I love the idea of getting all the girls stats normalized, I think all the bloated stats in the girls make the game a lot less fun. I was unaware of the full effects of all the traits, it's nice to see them and not have to go digging through the code.

As is with most traits just effecting stats, that means that if a girl has been trained up for a long time or has equipment and has 100 in most things, being Cute/Big Boobs/Lolita etc has no impact on her performance. Obviously that would require a lot of coding and is only tangentially related to the AGL but I just wanted to throw that out there.

I forgot to say this, but the traits do have additional unique effects in most jobs that the developers finished. They just happen under the hood, so you won't notice it during regular play. Incorporeal obviously has all those game-breaking effects where she doesn't get tired and doesn't get damaged. Quick Learner adds bonus experience to every action and Slow Learner reduces it. Also traits add to fetishes, which are virtually required to get customers when working as a whore. You may notice when you start out that if you buy a girl from the market with a lot of fetishes, she is much better as a whore than a girl who only has 1. This is the main reason why giving a girl way too many traits is problematic, but I'm ok with that as long as the girl actually possesses all of the traits. Probably what should be done there is forcing girls with a lot of traits to not appear in the slave market so they're more difficult to get. I didn't think about that, so thanks for bringing this kind of thing up!
Another balance "issue" is when you explore the catacombs. The game uses the stats of the girls you have in the catacombs - any unique catacomb girls, monster girls, bunny girls, etc. So when you set yourself to explore the catacombs, your girls' combat stats are matched up against the stats of the random/unique girls. If everybody in your .rgirlsx and uniques have 100 combat, you can't even set foot in the catacombs until your girl has 100 in a combat stat, and likewise if they all have 0 combat, you never lose with as little as 50 combat or magic. This is the main factor with success there, so moving every girl to 20 max in combat stats will make it so a girl only needs something like 60-70 in combat to beat everything, and then you can easily farm the catacombs.
So, say you have all random girls with 20 combat/magic in the catacombs, and you have no problems beating everything with your 50 combat girl. Then suddenly out of nowhere she gets raped after losing. It turns out, let's say Horo has 100 combat and she's set in the catacombs. Then Horo is the one raping your girl every time she loses.
Anyway most of the stuff you're suggesting would probably work quite well, Xela, and I trust your judgment on the matter because I see you're absolutely thinking this through.

I finally see what you meant... A girl who is given traits that increase looks that stack on one another gets absolutely insane bonuses... I set BOTH "Beauty" AND "Charisma" to 0!!!! and a girl gets "Looks" in high 60s JUST from traits (And not all traits that increase looks were used)... I am not sure how to make "balanced" girl packs now... I did not use any of the traits I wouldn't use to describe the Girl as she is in the Anime, I'll start a poll to figure out what people prefer...

Really, some girls in anime should be a whole lot better at being a "whore" out of the box than others. I see you have a Bleach avatar, so that's an easy example. Rangiku is a borderline nympho who is well-suited to this kind of thing, body and personality-wise. Rukia...not so much. I don't want to see Rukia balanced to be on par with Rangiku at whoring at first. So having Rangiku start out way easier than Rukia is not a problem in my eyes.
While it's definitely a plus to rebalance the girl packs, do keep in mind that it's still extremely easy to max out most stats or just find items in the game to add sexual stats enough that it isn't worth stressing yourself too much over girl starting stats. I mean, I think the default game comes with Polish, Amulet of the Sex Elemental, Perfection, etc., - balancing the game is a huge effort and is probably way beyond the scope of reviving the girl packs. We can address actual gameplay balance in due time and update the girl packs later on.

Yeah, but if we keep the stats down, girls personalities will only be more apparent in the beginning. I am not trying to level all girls, I am trying to prevent girls from having insanely high stats right of the bat. And I still disagree that it's easy to level up :) especially if you have a lot of girls :)

Oh, a last tip for duplicates - when they aren't obvious, one trick to help weed them out is this: In windows at least, switch your folder view to alt button->View->Details. Now click the "size" header so that all the pictures are arranged by filesize. Open up a pic so you're in the windows picture viewer thing and very quickly cycle through them. Duplicates often have the same file size, so you can easily locate a lot of them this way if you're willing to put the time into it.
An even more efficient way: use DupDetector (http://www.prismaticsoftware.com/dupdetector/dupdetector.html).
You can specify how similar in percent two pictures may be to be considered a duplicate. 95% or higher are recommended.
The program even finds duplicates if they have different resolutions by scaling one of the images to the size of the other's and comparing the pixel color values then.
Personally I would appreciate it if the girl pictures would be rather chosen by quality rather than quantity. In many of the user packs I downloaded recently were some pictures that just seemed way off in terms of quality from the rest of the pack. It kinda breaks the immersion of the game if you see a high quality photoshopped picture and on the next click a low resolution scribble that looks like it was done in MS Paint.
The pictures should also more focus solely on the girl they are designed for and not have too many side characters in it, potentially even some that exist as separate girl as well.

personally, I usually will not whore any girl with less then 4 fetishes. I will not buy a girl from the market unless she has more then 3 fetishes (or I really like her pics, or I need some one to clean). unless I need them for a job or event I sell any girl (unless I like the pics) with 3 or less fetishes right off the bat. so to me what needs to change is the initial stat boost, cahnge how the customers are handed out, or reduce the reliance on having fetishes to get customers, both are on the coding side. (I use anon21's mod to reduce how many customers I girl can see to make it easier for each girl to get customers).
if this were a new project I would suggest changing how the traits work, and having more traits and fetishes. like some of the existing traits would work better if they only affected satisfaction or how many customers a girl can attract, rather then looks (like charisma. you can be ugly and be charismatic). heck I would make fetishes a catigory unreliant on traits, or have them give traits rather then traits give fetishes.
also not every person who makes a girl pack actually knows anything about the girls with in it (all I know is what turns up for the google search I do for the discription, so basicly nothing)

Ah thanks, I'll try that. Gotta agree about the too many side characters unless it's intentionally a group sex pic. I crop profile pics whenever that happens.

Croping pics for all girls is to tedious and it is clearly a preference, I for example love group pics with a lot of characters.
The idea remains to improve playability and not to change anything drastically. I often found that the more you try to "personalize" something the less others like it, that's why I want to figure out everyone's opinions before starting uploading packs.

Well, I guess poll results took some basic shape. I'll start with updating packs today, trying to preserve as many traits for each of the girls that describe them while trying not to allow the girls to enter the game with overwhelming stats/skills.
Also I would like to thank Shilo for introducing us to the DupDetector. Program works very well and it should be of a great help :)
PS: Please do not expect fast results since I am working on another project as well and have to rewrite all girl files accordingly but I will try to upload packs on regular basis.
PS2: For larger packs I will upload only the 'Resized" version as I am on ADSL right now. I'll up normal versions when I get to fiber.

Just a minor tool to help you out with the whole image process there is a tool called ' renamer' which makes renaming far easier then doing it by hand.

The renamer didn't work. Unless I'm doing it wrong. I changed the extension to 7zip and it didnt seem to help. I'm gonna keep trying, if you have any advice on what to do it or how to do it let me know :)

I knew about renamer and I know how to set it up :) You need converter to properly go from .png to jpeg. Read the tutorial in my own thread, there is a link to a decent converter there.

I've uploaded some old files to the AGL as I do not have enough time to edit packs right now (and even uploading and linking old files took a lot of time). I'll up the missing old files later this week or in the beginning of next and resume working on editing packs to new standards in two or three weeks.

Sorry, I'm not going to vote. When I find things unbalanced I just alter it manually myself anyway. Heh, I doubt many if any of the girlsx and rgirlsx files in my game actually even match any of the ones in my uploads. Those random buttons in the editor are just too tempting.
I guess I could vote to leave them as they are, but I don't feel like having a set opinion at this time; and prefer to write a pointless sentence stating so.

Picked up the Kono Aozora Ni Yakusoku Wo pack. Kirishima Saeri's images are all bit maps. Not exactly pleased with this.

Only the first ten (or so) packs are cleaned up, I have been away from home for past two month so I didn't have much time to work at the list. I'll put time into that in a couple of weeks when I get back to my Desktop.

Do you consider it a repetition when there are certain pics with a slight modification?
Because mostly my updates have CGs out of certain packs / comics and that means some images are similar.
Example:
CG1 - contains girl getting raped
CG2 - contains girl getting raped + change in facial expression
CG3 - contains girl getting raped + cum all over her
CG4 - contains girl getting raped + change in facial expression + cum all over her
Is this okay? if not I will go back and change some things and try to fix it

I'd try not to depend too heavly on minor tweaks unless those tweaks let the picture qualify for a different sex category. If it is the difference between having 1 image for a category or 4 I'd say use the slight variations. If you've already got 4 good images without the variations I'd say include 1 or 2 that you like a lot. 4 seems like overkill if you have enough material without using them.

is there a priority as to what to categorize pictures as? For example, what do I do if an image fits in more than one category?
An example is the one I attached:

It confuses me what to consider them as... :(

group is either group or les. it's not sex, because sex is 2 people, or less.
if you get something that could go in multiple, like say, sex or bdsm (say soft bdsm), I'd base it on how many pictures you have in each possible category

Right now I am at the most annoyingly tedious task: checking image for repeats and then naming them according to the groups.
@fires_flare: Man I have around 40+mb of Cardcaptor Sakura, another 8+ mb for Vocaloid and Resident Evil, sooo... yeah....choosing the right group is definitely a large amount of work for me.

1) loli is a fetish of anime characters (not girls) that NOT ONLY look young but are young
2) Hentai pictures including lolis is not kiddie porn. Kidde porn is porn of a girl and is yes illegal everywhere
Ill still be including loli packs and supporting them. Infact we have had loli porn in this game since its first form.

Two reasons why Bleach and Naruto are missing is that those are being updated by multiple modders and it is prolly best to grab those from their threads with latest pics. I recall a better version of DC than I had was created by someone as well (not sure thou).
Second reason is that MediaFire keeps killing version of Naruto, Bleach and Fairy Tail that I have for violating copyrights. That happens when modders use Original pics (usually for profile pictures as pics from the Manga/Anime creators offer absolutely awesome quality). I am fairly sure that I fixed that issue for Fairy Tail but Naruto and Bleach are harder to figure out since those are not my packs :(
I suggest you simply use search function and find packs that you are looking for in modder's threads. Keep in kind that packs for Original, WM:EX and Crazy's mod are different and may not work well if you mix those up.

Well... after nearly 100 000 downloads my MediaFire account dedicated to WM was locked for a series of strikes.
I do not have time to 'RE'restore my own thread or AGL right now so it will have to wait a long while.
If anyone has some time to spare and a collection of girls from AGL, be my guest to take over like I did from Lafate over an year ago, maybe someone can even expand it to cover WM:EX and crazy's Mods.

Incidentally, the best way to make a torrent is to use uTorrent. They have an option right there on the main screen to "make new torrent," AND they walk you through it.

All depends on content. If someone claims copyright to pictures resize will not matter, if noone is, you're safe.

No mate, I got emails with strikes for resized versions of my own packs as well :( I am sure they are using same kind of algorithms as software that hunts down doubles on your harddrive based on content of a picture and not on it's size or type. Probably they are getting some info like color, coordinates, vectors and angles for a few 100 points on a picture and comparing it to what they have in a database, it may sound complicated but I once had a program under 5mb that was very good at that...
In any case, my resized packs were 'striked out' as well so simply resizing pictures is not good enough.

Hm, I thought they look at hash sum or something. I've used Image Resizer to modify pictures. It has some settings I don't understand (like filtration).
Well, if something happens, I'll probably use dropbox since I can't seed torrents all the time.

Frills is supposed be working on reuploading AGL and I have no clue as to what happened to Fire Emblem pack. I cannot check if I still have it cause I'm on laptop away from home right now.

For the record, I am working on getting them all uploaded. There are a lot of files, and at least for another two weeks, I've got to "lay low." The neighbor got busted for software piracy, and the feds are literally crawling over anything and everything that might, potentially be filesharing.
Give you an idea of what this looks like: The guy across the street was talking to a couple feds for two hours about his uploading/downloading habits. The fun part? He's a software designer that works from home. In other words, even legit transfers are being monitored right now.
I'll keep you updated as much as possible.

Sons of a b!tches... I really hate it when they go after small fish on behalf of multi-billion software 'victims'. But one can hardly complain since law is law after all. Traffic monitoring by government is still sick, feels like they are standing behind your ass watching you living your life. And I am not even from states.

some more A TON OF random girls. I can't find them anywhere. Moonchaos's pack looks really good but it's completely inaccessible because the mediafire links are dead. Just a suggestion if someone feels like making a torrent or uploading more random girls. Also bob473's 7 random elf girls...
Edit: Never mind I seem to have lost interest in this game already after working through the entire night to get it set up to my liking... Not nearly as fun or addictive as I had hoped. Well, maybe that's a good thing.

Small problem, upon getting these packs I took each of the characters and script files to to the character folder, when I load the game, it says none of the girls have triggers even though I styled it the same way as the file system that was already there. Anyone have ideas?

try searching the site before you post an error. Because this "error" has been reported several times.
It's not an error.
I don't know why your game crashes, but it goes "no trigger file found" because they don't have them (and the .girlsx files aren't what it's refering to) and they don't need them, since the game has a default script (what it is refering to is the meet girl or any other script made)
to help us figure out why your game is crashing a) make sure your game isn't set to fullscreen (and if it is make sure it fits your resulution) b) post a copy of your game log. c) search for game crashes and see if any of those fit.
