Hey don't blame me - I only stopped by here to fix a few bugs and port the code to Linux; maybe offer some encouragement to a talented designer who was making a game I enjoyed. Hanging around for a couple of years was never in the game plan. I had - have - projects of my own, you know?

Still, that said, I've had fun working on Whoremaster. It's a great game, and I feel privileged to have been part of the dev team. But let's get a few things into perspective here.

A little while ago, you, ShingingRadiance, and a few of your friends went to great lengths to persuade me that I lacked the moral authority to take the game in the direction I had in mind. OK, fair enough. We ran a few polls and just under two thirds of those responding supported my vision. I guess that if I'd been some brutal uncaring tyrant bent on forcing everyone to do things my way (as you recently suggested) then that would have been justification enough. But ... I figured you had a point.

The thing is, if I don't have that moral authority, then who does? Just because I'm not in charge here, Radiance, that does not mean that you are. That's a point that seems to have escaped you lately.

No, the only person who has any real authority to determine the direction in which the game should proceed is necno. So I asked him, and he was very clear. He wants the the game to be finished. Fair enough. It's necno's game and necno's project. I admit, I had hoped he'd back my vision, but he didn't and I'm happy to respect his wishes.

I appreciate that you may not like where that leaves the project, Radiance.  But if you're honest with yourself, you'll find you're not without responsibility for the current state of affairs.

Now, if you don't mind, I have a number of projects where I do have the right to make design decisions, and I think I'll go and work on one of them.

For everybody else - my apologies for the rant.

Hmm... No, I don't accept that.

The only reason I stepped in was to get exodia to come back and do things. Helpful things. Like making the best girlpacks.

But because he's bored with the game, he won't come back until... well, Lua might've been enough.

I didn't necessarily step in specifically to get you to do most of these things. Unintended consequences. Though, it goes beyond 'unintended consequences' when you try to place the blame almost totally on my shoulders.

__

What I dislike is how you seem to constantly eat up attention while looking for different ways to avoid doing anything, and make new forms of drama.

I think you're a liar, and I think that you're rather childish and annoying, and I see my old self in you. You could've done a lot of things for this game without drastically altering it, and a lot of things while drastically altering it.

And as for 'other projects'. Like you'll ever finish working on them. Hey, here's a thought: Finish working on what you're doing before looking for new things to mess around with. I just don't want you to latch onto ANOTHER project like you've done in the past and then not complete it, run it into the ground, then blame everyone else before running away and repeating.

I can see why some people think you're a troll, but I don't quite think that's it. It's just who you are, you're not doing it on purpose.

I'm sure you have plenty of talent. Just stop drama-ing everything. If people support you, they support you. Trust me: I enjoy harassing exodia MUCH more than I enjoy harassing you. You just give me a headache. You MUST be a taurus.

And "A band of friends" isn't quite right. Just exodia. I don't know any more of these perverts on here.
Please treat me well even though I don't deserve it.

@ShiningRadiance: I don't think there's anything in that which requires a further response on my part. My position is unchanged: I'm on sabbatical.  That's not going to change just because you shout and pout and stamp your foot.

@Uriel: Apologies for the thead hijack, I believe I'm done here.

The only one I've seen recently who seems to fit that description is you, actually. You come across as a rather abrasive individual.

Porn is for getting rid of stress. Porn sites, doubly so.

As are my contacts that I know through sites such as those.

I'm really a rather... hmm... floaty individual.

Floaty should work.

What I dislike about Doc is that he's similar to me. I don't know why he thinks that's an insult. It just means he's good with lots of things, but bad with projects like these, so he should avoid them unless he's willing to finish them, which he's not.

I decided to fight with Doc here primarily because we had a pm conversation, and he was afraid of talking to me one on one, so he wanted me to post in public and attract the attention of people who would defend him. I actually called this happening in that pm exchange.

Though, it's amusing that he makes me out to be a child. He's the one who ended up going "LA LA LA CAN'T HEAR YOU LA LA LA" and refused to talk in our pm exchange. Quite literally, too.

Fine, Doc, stay on sabbatical. I hope you actually come off of it this summer.

I bet exodia you'd stay on sabbatical for two years. He had little faith and bet you'd never come off of it and wander onto another project.

If you come off of sabbatical ever, then he has to name his penis "Mr. Tiny." Do your best.

Lots of bad karma here, hehehe.

I know what radiance is talking about. You just start something new and you're on it 100%, you work your way through the middle and start losing interest at that point -the excitement has gone and there are lots of boring stuff you have to fix because you left them aside working on the exciting ones. When you see that happening, you know that you've just reached the top of the "interest curve" and you're going down.

When the "interest curve" goes down, there's a chance you just quit and forget about whatever you were doing. Or leave it for some time and then return. Or you can stubbornly decide that you have to finish it just because you decided to begin the damm thing in the first place.

That said, I don't know why you insist on annoying Doc. If you were trying to get him back to work, this must be amongst the worst things you can do (besides calling his penis "Mr. Tiny", of course  :D )

Exodia's, not Doc's. I'd never call Doc's penis tiny. That's. Just. Mean.

Back on the subject of logouts, I've found a common factor in the bot login attempts which I'm now blocking. Normal login attempts should still work fine for users, but the bot should get back a 403 Forbidden error.
I've waited about an hour and seen no further bot login attempts get through in that time, so it seems to be working. I've also logged out and back in without a problem. So far so good.

Actually, Fixet kind of fit that description too for awhile.
