Maybe it's just me, but when I click on the link it gives me mediafire's file manager page without anything to actually download

morbriner, go to mediafire.com, and click "My Files" at the top of the page.  This should bring up a list of all the files you uploaded.  Next to each file name is a button that says "share" - click this.  The sharing URL listed there is the one you want.

I guess this is link to root folder of mediafire account. The problem is files/folders in root folder are considered private (if they were not you could accidentally allow everyone to look at all your files, potentially even private ones. Solution is to create folder in that root folder, move the file to it and then share that folder.
