limiting ability to open new threads for each user by 5 per day

those 2 suggestions could save us from spam-accounts...............

First: not really reasonable. A new user will create an account in order to post something, then be told they need to wait 3 days before being able to post? No.
Second: in SMF there's not a way to limit that, AFAIK.

Besides, there don't seem to be many spammers getting through these days with the various preventative measures we now have in place. The ones which do get through can be dealt with easily enough. Even if they make a ton of posts and/or topics, all of those can be deleted easily as a whole by a forum administrator.
