We don't have to make life difficult for us. We could just say you need 1000 XP to gain a level, period. However, I'm not convinced that will make the game easier to balance. D&D had over 10 years to balance this system now. It's not a perfect fit for this game, but I do think that it will be easier to balance an adaption of D&Ds system than anything we can come with ourselves.

Didn't found anything good yet. I think it will be good to share it here or somewhere else on forum.
