So: Whenever I feel like it, I will upload a .rar of my current game version. This version, as made by me last night (10/14/2013) runs on Crazy and PP's mod, and includes girls from myself, Lurker, and several others.

Look, every time I try using MEGA to upload anything, it cancels itself and restarts at around 80%. This is unacceptable. And, my college's computer servers block all torrents, incoming and outgoing.
If one of you guys could download and covert them to torrents, that would be great - in fact, I greatly encourage you to do so! And, I am sorry about the difficulty involved.

Any seeds around? Are you uploading to those guys stuck around 30%? They don't download anything from me for some reason... It's either they are on pause, or i've got some kind of a problem(like those uTorrent guys broke something... again).

I've just reached 100Gb of upload on this torrent... No idea why you're having trouble, I am currently uploading at 300KB/s out of a possible 3MB/s...

No idea what's wrong. And not even sure it's actually wrong at all. It's just i can seed up to 5Mb/s, but i'm not actually seeding a thing now, even though i see 5 peers.
edit: seeding at ~3,5MB/s again. I forwarded incoming connections port in my router again, and suddenly started seeding normally. Why was uTorrent's connection test reporting that "Your network connection is working as it should", i don't know.

I see 36 seeds now, and 15 reported by trackers.
And availability is 14. So, maybe you've got a connection problem of sorts or using a bad client.

The Game keeps crashing after I reach a certain point in the game and every time I try to click on next week when I reach this day it crashes.

Try to unassign your girls and skip turn. If this helps, reload and unassign girls with unique jobs(torturer, matron, movies, arena).
I've never seen this problem BTW. Just know that something like this were happening with regular unmodded WM (quite) some time ago.

I've also had the game crash due to (I assume) the gangs being unable to get a custom girl from the catacombs. (my game would crash when loading girl info, then stop crashing when I changed gang jobs. If I remember correctly.)

Not working.
So far it's still crashing even if I have all girls on free time then I tried all the gange on guarding. No change still crashing when I get to next turn.

okay, so open the file where you saved the game and look for a text file called "gamelog". The "problem signature" tells us nothing at all. The game log might actually help. Upload that and post the link here. the save file might help too.

Ok not sure what happened but the crash stopped I did more checking and so far apparently the only thing different seems to be an involvement with the health of a slave 9 tail fox.

just wondering, was the format of the trigger files changed (meet scripts for example) 'cause they do look different from the orig version's. (okay, so the only change is that there is more then one meet trigger spot, and each on is on it's own line, rather then over 4 lines. and the new one doesn't have this: Chance = "100% )
also there are two in cammy white's, might cause a problem (the second seems new, the other is a few numbers on different lines.)

The links are in order of when the pack was first posted, so updates are not in chronological order. However, the thread updates detailing every release are in chronological order.

Yes. It just means that they have no specific script, and that the program is defaulting back to the basic meetscript.

Yeah, that annoys me too. Hopefully Crazy will figure out a work around in the fullness of time.
Anyway, the cap is now, as far as I can tell, gone.

I mentioned this in another forum but, I'll repeat it here. What is giving you dead girls with trait names is the Seras Victoria.girlsx is buggered. redo-it or remove it. Problem gone ( other than the copy in your saved game ).
hewhocumsbynight is aware of this.

It's impossible to compress images three times more without catastrophic loss of quality.

Yeap, three times is out of question but going over png files with dedicated software like it's required by SM developers when adding new stuff to optimize compression, reducing quality of jpeg files to 6 - 7 (usually still really good) and also optimizing compression, resizing all pics with resolution larger than 1000x1000 (there are some @ 2500x3000) should reduce the size a lot.
If truth be told, in WM packs with large files (not bmp obviously) have generally been very well received and compressing stuff has never been a requirement by modders/developers so I expect you can do quite a bit in that area if you put your mind to it.

Depending on your monitor size and preferences, I guess. Personally, I resize images in my packs to 1000x1000 with Image Resizer software. It also allows you to convert png to jpg during resizing to save more space.

If there are png images in my packs, they are not there by intent. I strive to have all of my packs contain only jpg images. I also try to compress as many images as possible as far as possible - if you look at my newer packs, the majority of the images are 200 kb or less.

Actually it could work. SDL, the library used for image loading, should support at least jpeg, png and tiff. The termination should be irrelevant in the determination of the file format which should be done by the content of the file. If WM is filtering *.jpg files renaming it could end up working just fine.

I'm not new to gaming but am fairly new to this game, played about a week or so before I found there were better than the original versions so I grabbed this night before last. Gave me fits for a bit so I figured I'd note what I'd found so other new users don't have the same problems. What's obvious when you've been around a while isn't so much when you haven't been. And I'll get this out first, yes it was a clean install, brand new virgin folder never entered by anything but this download ;)
Most of it's great except for one big problem I had, I'd buy a girl or get one from the walk and she'd show up in my brothel or dungeon, but not healthy. Dead in fact. Drove me nuts until I started going through the saved game files which led me to the girlsx and rgirlsx files. A few such as 'Seras Victoria' were screwed. One had a zero where an "O' should have been, another forgot to close a statement with a '>', another looked like someone edited it with notepad instead of notepad++ or something which respects formatting. Notepad doesn't, it screws documents people. Can't remember the other names offhand but there were maybe 4 or so, give or take.
The way to find them is cumbersome but easy (you can drag and drop), just load them one by one into the editor and if it doesn't load it's poked. If it does load it's fine, don't edit or save it in the editor because it will lose some things such as 'titty sex' and 'oral sex' which weren't in the original game. Fixed all but 'Seras Victoria' in notepad++ but that one was poked enough I just read the contents and copied it into the editor, seemed easier. Probably why it stuck in my head, worst screwed of the bunch. No more dead new slaves/employees though and the game loads faster without the errors.
Ok, mentioned above the idea of 'titty sex' and 'oral sex' not being in the original game and due to that you can't enter the skills into the script editor, except with a simple edit you can. I did and it works fine. In the folder 'ScriptEditor' there's a subfolder called data, go there and you'll find two documents. One that clearly says "DO NOT EDIT THESE" which I of course ignored and another named "ScriptCommands.txt", that's the one we're interested in. First make a backup copy, just in case you screw up you'll be able to restore it just as if you'd paid attention to the other file in the first place.
Ok, backup made open it and look for the line "CHOICE 32", change that to CHOICE 34 because we're adding two new commands to that section, otherwise they won't show up. #32 is the line "COMBAT" so we'll insert ours directly below that. Two lines, first "ORALSEX" and the second on a new line is "NONE". Yes none, don't ask me why but that's what the game and save file uses instead of Titty_sex or something that would make some kind of sense ;) There's another section that also included the sex commands, didn't screw with that myself because I didn't need to yet. If you do you're doing a whole new test of your own and I don't know what it changes or how/where it'll work yet. Still picking it up myself.
Ok, that's the biggest of it but one last quick comment then I'm gone. Since this game was created screen sizes have become larger, as screen sizes get larger the same font on the screen looks smaller. Test it, change your display resolution to a much larger or smaller size and see what it does when you browse the web. Different, huh? Well, due to that I'd assume the default text sizes, on the girls stats to the left of the pic on the main brothel "Girl Details" screen in particular, are way too small. I played with the "interface" folder a bit but haven't run across the rtight settings yet and given that screen sizes and resolutions aren't getting smaller but bigger it's probably time to change the defaults.
That's more than enough for a first post I'd guess. Yeah, I know some of it maybe should have gone elsewhere but the girls packs part didn't and I figured what the hell.

u´d do a good deed to everyone who wants to enjoy this game. it really is frustrating to play and have to start over again, especially now that i know i might reach a point where the same crash issue might happen just again.

Sure, as I'd mentioned I didn't remember the names so I extracted the whole thing and went over them again in a new folder. No big deal, just do something for someone else when you can. I attached a very small file here containing just the 4 .girlsx files in question. They were Captive Elven Officers.girlsx, Nene Anegasaki.girlsx, One Piece.girlsx and Seras Victoria.girlsx. Just extract them into the Resources\Characters\ folder with the rest of them. It should fix the problem with dead and zero stats across the board npc's but I can't swear it'll fix every problem. For example...
While extracting I noticed two error messages, Hinamori Amu\group7.jpg is broken, I looked and it's a zero byte file. Rachel Alucard\Les6.jpg the same. I just deleted them and renamed others in the folder to fill in the gaps. That's two that 7zip caught for me but there may be more and graphics errors can cause a crash in most games. Could be the problem here maybe? Dunno yet, I'm not exactly sure yet what might be a fault and what's native to the version. For example in the original version I played I never saw a red highlighted npc in the slave market but in this version I do. Not sure if it's a sign of a bug or a feature pointing something out to me which I haven't caught onto yet. That's one problem with coming into a game like this late, poorly documented and you'd have to read the notes in the posts where it's first discussed or announced to figure it out for sure. If I figure out anything more I'll let you know.
As an afterthought, do start a new game with the fixed files. As I said above I can't swear it'll fix the crashes, so far I haven't had that problem, but I'm pretty sure continuing a game with broken data isn't going to work and that's what those files caused.

@maggot propelled corpse: might be no big deal for someone who understands what all the scripting means and how it´s supposed to work... :P me, i´d never see where a :, ) or ] is missing somewhere... i am happy enough to get this thing to run in the first place. ;)
one of the girls u mentioned be4 was the one that´s causing dead girls, i think it was sera victoria or whatever her name was. it was recommended to delete her file. having done just that i never had those troubles with the dead girls appearing in the dungeon. maybe with ur fixed scripts u just added 4 more girls to the game for me... :D
again, thanks for ur efforts, i will start a new game now to check if there´s something else that gets this to crash.
soh, and btw: this might sound stupid, but is there a way to insert the fixed scripts in the existing torrent, so other players don´t have to find this first be4 they can play properly?

Insert it into the torrent? Not that I'm aware of. Any file sharing software worth using does a CRC check of the files to make sure some jerk didn't tamper with it, insert a virus or trojan of some sort. Any effort to tamper with or modify the file would fail the CRC check so be seen as a brand new file, not shared with this one. Have to either put up a whole new one or deal with what we've got and the patch I guess.
No problem on the files, Uriel filled me in on something I didn't know and I helped with something you didn't know, not a big deal. There's an old quote I've always liked which explains my attitude on the subject.

just a little report: after playing for a while now i did not encouter any more or new problems... yet. didn´t purchase a seconde brothel by now, but clinic, studio and the other stuff do work. need to find out what the bedwarmer at home is good for, though. ;)

I just got the game a couple of days ago and have been loving it so far. So, I'd love more updated version with more added.

a new torrent would be nice, including the fixes. mentioning that, i got the crash i was expecting today. i tried changing a few settings and found that the game continued when i had the girl "palutena" whore inside the brothel and not in the streets.
i don´t know enough about scripting, though, to see if it really was a fault in her script or something else. maybe m.p.c. can look over her script again. i will keep playing some more and see if i find more of those "crash constelations".
anyway, thanks for this highly entertaining game, and i hope that there will be people to keep new girls and new features coming. btw, best feature would be sizable text... i almost get a headache when i try to read those tiny letters... :)

I don't see that name in the girlsx or rgirlsx files though it could be buried in a pack which has multiple girls. Lots of them aren't unique though, the name shown will be just a random name picked when the game spawned them from the rgirlsx file. Select at her in the main brothel management screen and see on the right side where her description is, bottom line, who she's based on and I can take a look.
Odds are it has nothing to do with her though unless she has bad images which might cause a crash. With most there's no scripting involved, in their data folders there would be a trigger file to call a script which is why we get just the generic recruit text for the majority and unique text for just a few. And as far as I can tell so far the script would only be used in the recruit text, once you have them they run just like the rest who lacked the trigger. Other scripts are shared among them based on the action called rather than the girl in question.
Keep in mind I'm new to this game too, something simple like checking an xml file is no big deal but if we get into the actual coding for the game we're way past both my programming skills ( which are about zero) and my knowledge of what is a bug vs what is a feature I haven't picked up on yet. Most of what I know was picked up just like this, played a game and something bugged me so I poked at it and little by little learned some basic scripting and xml editing. Programming, that's something I've never done and have no real urge to learn. I still get an occasional crash myself, but not game breaking always in the same place ones like was discussed here before. The strays I'm not sure what to do about other than save often and check for broken images or something which might cause it.

she seems to be a unique girl, it says based on : palutena. if i remember right i got her from a special recruitement encounter in the hospital.
she has her data in the characters folder. but even if u poked me with ur aforementioned stick i couldn´t tell if there´s something wrong with her script or the pictures.
but hey, whatever helps to get this entertaining thingy run a bit more stable is very much welcome.

Also, just for the record, Palutena is a unique girl that I made. I am pretty sure that, while I made her in the Editor, I modified her file using Notebook, which I have done for most of my girls at one point or another.
The only special thing about her is a distinct meetscript, with triggers for the town, clinic, arena, and studio.

Yeah, she's there. For some reason I was looking at Pat... rather than Pal... which I should have, looked right past her. Looks ok to to me though.
Speaking of editing them after they come out of the default editor I figured I'd toss this out there real quick. I figured out the format for adding oral and titty sex to their data. The default (with it not being entered) seems to give them a small amount on a random (?) basis but we can bump that to what we want with the following edits, the names the game recognizes being "OralSex=" and "TittySex=" Played with spaces and "none" since that's what the save file and script editor uses and those are finally what worked. Why it's different between the scripts, save files and the char data I don't know, but it is. I know hewhocumsbynight already knows that since it's in Palutena but I didn't and others might not, it isn't used in most girls files and it can be.

I have a torrent file. It's sitting there, saying that it's seeding, with a single seed present and an availability of 1.00. What else need I do?

not using torrents that much myself, but from the little experience i have with them i dare say: give it some time. most torrents seemed to get more peers after a while only, don´t ask me why. if i download a torrent i usually only get bothered if there´s no seeders after lets say an hour or so.

Seras is fixed, most of Lurker's new girls are added, miscellanious girls are added. Beyond that, nothing much, but I just didn't want the same complaints being brought up again and again.

Just a quick note since I'd guess you're not big on new complaints either ;) This includes the new version of the mod by Crazy and there have been some changes which are listed at http://www.pinkpetal.org/index.php?topic=953.msg24738#msg24738
Most of it you can figure out over time but the new jobs you'll need to know at the start if you continue a saved game. Since some jobs have been renamed you'll need to reassign them, for example what used to be 'Whore for Gamblers' is now 'Hall Whore'. Before assuming the game is broken just reassign everyone making sure their assignments match the new job names. Yes it's a little bit of a pain but the game isn't broken and it only needs done once.
Some new features such as the jobs rating system looks real good, I look forward to seeing it further developed.

Moving to 0.5h worked for me. If you'll crash on "next week", you will need to reassign jobs.

EDIT: just had another crash, all im doing is pressing "girl management" after a few weeks and it just crashes...
EDIT 2: ok it happened again, i saved every week until it happened and i have a save where it crashed. but after re-loading the save it doesn't crash...

for some reason the game crashes sometimes when i try to adjust the money spent on promotion for my movie studio, mostly if it´s done the first turn after loading a game. it often crashes when trying to look at the girls from the studio during turn summary, too, plus if u try to use the "next" and "prev" buttons in the studio, house, the arena or the clinic u end up getting the next girl in the brothel u have selected, not the location that u are actually looking at. is that something fixable?

Copy the magnet link then just choose "Add torrent from URL". The link should already be there. If it isnt just paste it and press ok. Thats the only way I know of to add a magnetlink.
Granted I use uTorrent.

Not my torrent. Try getting utorrent instead I guess.
I cant remember Bittorrents menus. But I'm pretty sure i remember adding magnet links to said program. Suppose google could help you out.

The way you were told to do it IS the way to use that link. If the software you're using is outdated and doesn't know how to handle a magnet link then replace the software. As far as I know there is no direct download link, anywhere, that's the whole point of a torrent in the first place.
I see why hewhocumsbynight was a bit irritated earlier in the thread. When I posted how to continue from a saved game and the very next post asked how to continue from a saved game I pretty much decided that would be my last post here, at least for a while. It's one thing to help people who are in over their heads and simply don't know how to deal with things, it's another to deal with questions already answered on the same page or with complaints that the person creating the thread isn't responsible for and can't fix. Damn people, he put together a package so we wouldn't have to find all the parts ourselves, a time saver of sorts. That doesn't make him responsible for or the creator of all the parts of it.
Crashes, they happen. Deal with it. I played Oblivion for quite a while, if you never did look it up. Bethesda software, major corp, and they put out a VERY successful product that had a reputation for crashing at the drop of a hat. And that's with a major, successful, professional software package.
This is a work of hobbyists, just people who had an idea and decided to share it with others. And some here seem to expect perfection. They aren't paid a dime for it, they get more complaints than thanks for it, and in the end they are doing a pretty damned good job with it. If it isn't perfect, DEAL WITH IT, or learn to help out your own damned self and fix what you don't like, offer your own version. That way you'll get to enjoy the complaints of those who don't like your version either.

It's a bit late now, but maybe for another time it would be better to split it up into different torrents. So you'd have one for the main game, and x for the girl packs.
But maybe we could do this with the .06 girls? I'd gladly keep on seeding the girl packs as well, but I'm not much for the conversion work.

Because .05t.03 is the last version of the .05 series, that is a good place to end the current set of torrents.
If you do start another torrent, I have a couple of requests:
1. When you start a new torrent - erase or strike out the old ones from the forum or edit the post with a note saying there is a newer version available.
2. Either Zip up each character into their own zip file, or do not zip up any.
- Having zips mixed in with the folders can create a little confusion, especially if the zips unzip themselves into subfolders.
- If every girl folder is available as a ready to play folder, and the downloader has "append .part to incomplete file names" on in their torrent program:
- - then they can first unselect the Characters folder and download the game files
- - when the game files are done, reselect the Characters folder and download the girls files.
- - This would allow them to play the game from the download folder while all the girls are downloading.
- - the .part will prevent the game from loading incomplete files.
- - The game refreshes the (r)girlsx and images when loading the game so to add more of what has been downloaded, the player would just have to quit and restart the game.
- Having the girls folders separate makes it easy for the downloader to choose a specific girl to download even if they don't play the game.
3. If you are going to make new torrents often, don't include the game files, only the Characters folder.
- copy the readme.html from the game folder into the root of the torrent folder so the downloaded will have the link to this website.
- (I need to update the readme.html again, it is rather old.)

In the settings of the torrent or the default settings there is a "Seeding Ratio" if that is turned on, your computer will stop seeding when you upload more than the (torrent size * ratio) after you finish downloading it.

It would fix it on your end but the torrent requites the original files from a complete download in order to see it as the torrent's files.
If 1 person with the complete torrent could disable their seed ratio and start seeding again, all the people at 99.9% now would finish in just a few minutes.

You can't "reset" it but in the settings you can disable or change the ratio limit.
Sometimes setting the ratio to 0 will make it seed forever, it just depends on the torrent client you are using.
If you have removed the torrent but still have the files you can reopen the torrent and select "verify local data".
This checks the previously downloaded torrent files against the torrent hash and will rebuild your torrent data.
Once that is finished, you can reseed.

It seems that current torrent has no .exe and no gamesaves now. I tried to feed it with the .exe i found in .05t.03 archive, but it's not the right one.
I think what we see here is people playing/updating the copy they downloaded, without making a copy of it to play(that's quite understandable, it's kinda large). So they overwrite the savegames included in torrent with theirs, and the .exe being changed when they update. Then they can't seed the full copy anymore, and torrent is stuck at nearly finished.
The only way around is to seed it with no game files, girls/items/whatever only.

Yeah, as it was once before. Not very convinient i must say. It will kinda help, but then people will extract the game and delete the archive for SPAAAAACE. Because there can never be enough SPAAAACE.

The problem with making the torrent as a zip file is that if that gets stalled at 99.9% then the entire thing is useless.
I see 2 ways of doing it better, either multiple smaller torrents or 1 torrent with each girl in their own zip.
Four 5gb torrents dividing the girls alphabetically or perhaps 1 torrent for rgirls and 3 for girls.

Unless everyone receives a corrupted zip it shouldn't be possible for a single zip torrent to stay at 99.9%.
It doesn't make any sense to use multiple torrents either, a single torrent with multiple zips will keep confusion low especially if it is named sanely (for example 'WM-complete-2014').
As for how you split the girls into individual zips is something more debatable.
I would propose one zip with the game, and a 'starter pack' of girls to plop into the character folder, how the rest are packed is something else - individual zips for each girl would probably be the easiest, grouping them as series or just keeping the original packs in which they came would be the options that come to mind.
Another thing is how 'complete' are the packs in that mega torrent at the moment? I mean there were a lot of changes in the recent patches, so how complete are those anyway?

I don't mind uploading for any amount of torrents and I'll leave 30 GB of space for it on my computer.
With that said I'd prefer if we did a couple of zips, one for the main game, a basic girl pack (Girls with more or less full pictures and multiple for each options), and individual torrents for the pack developers.

It's about the girlpacks, not the game files. Future complete game torrents would most likely only contain the Characters folder, which you'd be able to drag and drop into any future patch of the game.

I know, but there were several new image-types added or are going to be added, aren't there?
So a lot of packs currently available are probably incomplete at the moment.

GonDra it take some time before nearly the most of the girlpacks are updated cause the last version from crazy and aevojoey is very young and the new image-types are as new as the version cause they were newly integrated

Most of the girlpacks may never be updated, either because the creator isn't here anymore or because there are no images that fit the new imagetypes.

Yeah... pack making is never as straight forward as any of us would like. Although Individually zipped characters grouped by series does make the most sense in regard to collectively archiving stuff, I believe that's how the original torrent was sorted.

I am in the process of attempting to upload a 22 gb rar file of my current complete game download to Mega. I have no idea how long this will take, or if it will be successful. Unfortunately, I am on a college network, so I can't set up a torrent for you guys. If anybody has a good idea about how to get this file out, I'd appreciate it.
Current version included is Crazy/Aveojoey's 6.00.33, with the current WM Editor version. This includes all or almost all of Lurker's mixed girls - with some fluff added.

I would suggest splitting the archive into smaller pieces and uploading those, so that when the upload breaks it didn't waste all your time.
Will also make it easier for people with spotty connections to download it.
