Title: first time user question.

hi, I heard about this game on another forum and when I tried to download it  (from the sticky) it was just one file, that didn't work. where do I find the file(s) I need to play it.

The single file you downloaded was probably just an update file, you need the whole program which you can find here: http://pinkpetal.org/index.php?topic=176.0

sorry 'bout the lack of details. it was 1 o'clock in the morning when I posted. as juroh said I just got an update, not the whole program.

ok, I got it, and all the files that are supposed to make it work, but it still says it's missing a file (SDL.dl or something like that) so I should reinstall. (if it helps the comp I'm using is 5 years old, at least, and hasn't had Internet for 3-4 years, so no updates)

Did you download 1.29 yet, it should have everything needed to run at least the full version should.

I have the 1.29.4 version, provided in topic:version 1.29.4.0 . would i still have to get the other version (if so where can I find it)

OK you will need 1.29.0.0 It can be found in this topic http://pinkpetal.org/index.php?topic=19.0 (http://pinkpetal.org/index.php?topic=19.0)

Once you download that make sure to reinstall 1.29.4.0 then 1.29.4.5

ok, the first link is just one file (it's actually the file i mentioned in the op). and neither of the computers I have access to can read it.
the file reads as an unknown file type when I go to down load it. while .4 version reads as a compressed file.

You will need something like 7zip or winrar to open it.

in case nothing else works, begin by DL'ing 1.23 then the update for that to 1.29 i know it's a long way but the game is worth it so far :)
