Hello. If you want to help with writing, I could propose you to write game prehistory for a start. Our constants are: there was a really huge slave riot in the past; during it someone used a spell or a device that turned city surroundings into unstable in terms of space zone with monsters and stuff (that's where players can fight them and serch for items and other stuff); during the riot main character's father disappeared.
Other than that, you can write pretty much anything as long as it as cool as your story about that guy :)

Let's see...
- MC's mother. Someone early proposed an idea that she was a slave and that she was either killed or sold out, since her owner wasn't MC's father. That's just an option though. Either you could come up with a better story where she disappeared much earlier than father, or you could try to write a similar scene for her, how MC remembers it.
- A story about the riot itself: how slaves prepared for it, what served as an occasion, how it was suppressed. From the viewpoint of city government, since slaves don't write official history.
- You could reveal more MC's history in terms of starting class. There are warrior, mage and casanova already. So you could write three very short stories about how he received the necessary knowledge and skills before beginning of the game.
- We assume that something during the slaves riot changed lands around the city, making monsters and stuff appear all the time. You could write a small story from the perspective of an outside observer how lands gradually changed.
No, length is perfect. I like the idea of exotic, unhuman characters like the golem. Try to come up with a bit more.
And try to do the same for villains, MC's enemies. Of course he doesn't know about them in the beginning of the game.
Would be cool to have charismatic, powerful ones. Powerful in terms of both connections and battle skills/magic.

**: First time programming in python/ren'py but using the other events (like the frog one) as an example I should be able to write the code for most things.
We are also limited by sprites. Golems, zombies, werewolves, variuos humans and elfs, even most elementals are easy to find.
But when you give so accurate and uncommon description like the black child has, it already requires unique, custom sprite.
Question, how many people do you have committed to this project by the way?
There is no point to assign people to specific roles in a project like this, it will never work because people usually have unstable hours, disappear without a trace, stay online and visit the forums regularly while not being able to contribute due to rl job/issues and etc. There is no point in organizing even the existing members, we all have been around long enough to know what to do if time allows us to contribute to the game.
Makes sense, give me two weeks to get home and I'll see what I have to offer.

We have a number of very specific requests for a graphics designer that are world apart in impotence for the game than that silly black goblin thing. Truth be told, all of the people so far who seriously contributed to the project just jumped in and did their stuff, often without even asking :)

When you're sure at least about the later, lets start with something simple: pytfall\game\content\gfx\interface\images\elements. In this folder are the icons we use for Elemental Alignments, if a character has more than one, we crop the image (vertically) and show one image made up of several of these icon. There are some issues with that so an you make sure these icons or of the same height/width and all have the exact same amount of transparent pixels between the image and it's boarders (or remove that spacing all together).
Isn't that how it goes? Checkout/fork > edit > commit > merge back into master? It's been 2 years since I've used git.

I noticed the linked actions like virginity loss & stat upgrade are displayed in the same text box. I'm assuming they're called by a separate process or whatever & have no bearing on the actual fuck text?
Just until the next version of Ren'Py comes out, you'll also have to update Ren'Py to per-release channel after grabbing the latest version, we are using some features that are not in the release version yet.

Well, some of it is checked elsewhere but most of the report is built by one function that contains all checks and texts, all extra info from stuff that happened elsewhere is passed to it. At this moment we do two checks for this job, one is for beauty and the other for skill but you don't have to write the texts for everything, just roll with whatever you feel like (aka don't kill the creative process with rules/demands while on the roll :D ).
If you have beauty & skill calls already, I can write versions for all combos, well at least ugly>OK>Supermodel & can't fuck>OK>sex goddess.

Just wondering if that would fit your structure or if beauty and talent should be separate. From a players perspective, the pre-combined versions would be much better, but IDK if you can get the code to identify everything & choose the proper text. I hope that wouldn't create a huge amount of work for you, but I'm willing to do it that way.
I would need to write 9 texts per event type. More than that once you bring the caste system back, but It's not that huge a project I forgot you nixed caste for now. When you bring it back, a separate txt call for each caste would be sufficient I think, no real need to edit or redo the actual fuck text. I'll remember to exclude mention of customer clothing/wealth etc. in the fuck txt .

Problem with pre-combined is that it's really hard to write, with everything split, we can have the game choosing from multiple options when constructing the event reports. Seems simpler with shorter texts on one hand and more coherent with pre-combined texts on the other. We used to have pre-combined btw, we switched to split once because those were easier to write without dedicated writers.
Note that if a customer dislikes the girls completely, act will never happen, so there will not be a report (can't f*ck ==> preferable to fucking a harpy (used to be horse but Dark must have changed it :) )).Yeah, it goes well together with some pieces of lore provided by mobs descriptions :)

Don't know if you'll use different positions or not, you could use a wildcard to pull from the available positions I assume.At first we select act (like vaginal or anal), then we check what kinds of positions the character has for this act, and pick one of them randomly.

For a start you can write small texts just like you do it for whore job atm, but for actions between MC and girls from interactions. Kiss, hug, grab ass, grab boobs.
Not based on skills or stats, but based on the level of disposition. Ie for example from a small short kiss to deep one with tongue.

If you'd like to do more spell checking, there are also traits, mobs and items descriptions. They are in game\content\db, there are files starting with "items_" and "traits_", and one file "mobs".
After you finish with sex scenes, you are welcomed to try to write short descriptions for hugs, kisses and grabbing stuff from interactions.
I do not mean lines, I mean the acts themselves, just like you describe acts for whore job. Like, the character slaps you in the face or something if you try to grab her with low disposition, but more compliant with high disposition.
I'll check of we have pronouns coded in tomorrow, it's one of those things that are very simple to add so it feels like we should have done that already...
