WM7
« on: June 11, 2018, 04:04:11 AM »
I have finally gotten around to making Whore Master 7 which will be an SDL2 version of Whore Master 6 with a lot more added.
As it is now, all it does is create one window maximized on each screen (my setup has 3 screens, so 3 windows).

At the moment, I am only using a windows build but I will try to make it completely compatible with linux (if anyone wants it for mac, buy me one to test it on).
If I can, I may make it work on android but can't promise anything on that or iphone or ipad.
I will not have too much time to work on it during the week but I will try on the weekends.
I will try to keep updating this thread and when I get a playable version I will post it alongside WM6.
When I get to the point where I will be copying over stuff from 6 to 7, I will update 6 occasionally.
Fixing the game is a better game than actually playing it.

This is VERY exciting!
There are so many little pieces that are almost-but-not-quite finished with WM6 and Crazy's especially. Having a central, modern codebase and project manager will be fantastic.
For now are you aiming for a 1:1 transfer, and then make changes afterwards?

Once you get the foundations down, I can volunteer to do some coding. Are you planning on doing a full rewrite, or just refactoring the code?

Oh hell yeah! It's a good time to go back to Crossgate, can't wait to see what is new in this game.
The whole region of Crossgate will be my playground....
Our playground....
The whole freaking world guys....
Crossgate Chronicles?? Yup it's that bad....
I'll still chug on! Plus, The Crazy Team is really doing a good job on this game.

I am making it from scratch at first until I get all the elements displaying properly, then I will slowly add in stuff from WM6.There will be no playable version for a while, I'm not even going to number it until I get it loading everything.

Take as much time as you need, you already proven that you can do something with the assets. Hopefully everything will go smooth for you. Infact, this is inspiring me to go and finish up the stuff I have on the backlog.

Good News Everybody...
I am almost finished with the project at work and when my time there is finished, I will have a lot of time to work on games.
I have enough in savings to last at least 3 months before I will need to look for other work but that is the minimum time.
I do other paying jobs on the side so money is not really the issue.
Once I start releasing updates on a regular basis again, I could probably get enough Patreon followers that I will not have to get another job.
I will have more details in the next weeks.

With the holidays coming up, I will try to get the first working version of WM7 by the end of the year.

This was super unexpected and one of the best posts I've read all year.
Thank you. Thank you kindly.
