Improving Barmaid

Just going use this topic to talk about how to improve various jobs and other aspects of the game.

Since we have a Bath image type, the girl could visit a local bathhouse in her free time to relax.  Gain happiness, lose tiredness. It still seems kind of pointless though...
Unless we add a "Hygiene" stat, fuck yeah.
Or some nasty/good events could happen to her while she's in the bathhouse. I could write some.

Man, this is hard. What do women generally do in their free time? The margin of possibility becomes kind of narrow after you take shopping out.

What about having the girl cook. Which would give a gain in happiness if comes out good and if it comes out bad a small increase in tired.

I would be really cautious about having the free time action cause any increase in tiredness. While items can help, having free time reduce tiredness is it's best feature.


Women have hobbies, just like men. You already have TVs, which has an associated hobby of 'wasting time'. Have particular types of equipment have an associated hobby activity. Sewing machines for sewing, cooking or baking pans for food preparation, video games for another 'wasting time', flower vases for arranging, decorator magazines for redecorating, etc. The critical thing is, when a woman engages in her hobby, it's actually refreshing and reduces tiredness faster.


She shouldn't engage in her hobby if she's literally too tired to move (>80% tiredness, maybe) or if she is so injured that she can't actually do anything (<50% health?) The rest of the time, the life balance provided by a hobby will actually make her more productive by keeping tiredness at bay.

Nope, free time is handled perfectly just as it is. Women go shopping during their free time period.  :D

Shopping still be the main thing but just feel it needs more. I had already thought of a few of these. But how should slaves be handled?  Should they be allowed to do the extra stuff or not. Maybe base it of the reputation of the pc if ur good they can if ur evil they can't

Girls with money should buy something that gives them a hobby. Maybe make it so that certain traits make girls prefer some hobbies over other like a girl with nerd will want boardgames etc.

My slaves don't have any money and I would like them not to window shop and stay in my brothels unless I reward them and give money or hobby item to them.

Haven't played for a while is there a interaction where I can give money if not there should be.

Well, personally, I don't want to micromanage every girl, so I set my slave girls to get 5% of the money they generate. That lets them take care of "personal needs" so I don't have to.


There is already one hobby in the game, the Painting Easel.

That depends entirely on player choices (and, to a degree, the character in question, as I believe slaves can still start with money); I tend to let my slaves keep 10-15% of what they earn.

Ideas ...
 
Sadistic and/or Yandere characters (especially if they are combat-oriented) may, if they have high Rebelliousness, go out and pick a fight with someone.  Winning would get them some gold and/or minor items (Small or Tiny Healing Potions/Incense, maybe some Happiness Items?); runs the risk of getting the Guard on your case, though, increasing suspicion.  (Possibly add the chance of HP loss if they lose the fight, otherwise just have them fail at it and increase Suspicion?)

Like others have said, the bath image type could get some use. I guess girls can pay a visit (if they have the money) to the spa/onsen/whatever for increased Tiredness recovery if they're too tired.

What could happen there? Lesbians and bisexuals can get a temporal increse in libido if they meet a pretty girl, and if they're nymphos they may try to seduce her if they're horny. Straight nymphos/succubi and the like may even enter in the men's section if they're desperate for sex... who knows.


If they aren't too tired, girls with addictions may sell themselves on the street if they don't have enough money for drugs. Girls with increased sex drive may do it for free under certain conditions (Morality? Libido? Obedience?). This could add some challenge to the game if public sex is outlawed, with girls ending up in jail if they get caught (and can't "convince" the guard), and paying bribes so guards ignore them, but I'm not sure if I like the idea, because this should have an effect on the "whore on the streets" job as well.

Girls that like combat could pay (again, if they have the money) to watch some fights at the arena. Nerdy girls, on the other hand, could go to the library to read some books, and if they have a magic-related trait they could read magic books and get an increase in magic.

Unless it's really hard to code I would really like a panel with rules for slaves during free time:

Allowed to go out (YES/NO)
Allow to Shop (Yes/NO)

Etc.

If that's not possible then it makes sense to link it to reputation. I would hate to role-play an evil character and have my slaves go stroling in the park.

Yeah this can be done.  Take some work but this might be the way to go.

True so I may link it to buildings u own...  Like if you own the centre we can say it has a pool and maybe some of ur girls go to it to relax.  Ive also thought of making a bathhouse building but never fully decide it would be worth it.

This is a concern of mine.  But if I do the thing like at the top where u can either allow them to or not then u can pick.  If I link it to rep then unless ur play a nice guy it wont be a problem.

Still lots to figure out going start small and see how it goes keep giving feedback if u come up with it.  I may ask about a different job in this topic soon.  Pretty good feedback so far and I have a few more jobs I want to work on soon.

Also at times it feels as though there is not a lot of interaction between the girls. So maybe have it so that the girls can have conversations with each other during free time.

As of right now girls just can go shopping in there free time.  If they are a drug addict they buy drugs until they are out of money otherwise they may or may not buy something.  I would like to see more things for them to do in there free time.  Take note that none of this may ever get added but I would like to see what other people would like to see added for girls to do in there free time.

 Free time, how to spend them:
 
Nympho:
Fucking some random dude in a alley for FREE.
Looking for some “excitements” in a rivals place/bar.
Going to a brothel for some fun.
 
A former kidnapped girl or sold by father:
Plotting an escape plan.
Trying to escape.
Contacting authorities about her situation.
Looking for help.
 
Adventurer/Assassin/Aggressive:
Venturing into enemy territory to provoke fights.
Watching fights at the arena.
Starting a fight at a bar.
Exploring catacombs on her own.
Taking revenge on someone.
Trying to kill the Player.
 
Or any other/in General:
Visiting a shrine/temple.
Getting a routine checkup at the clinic.
Visiting the country side.
Having a picnic.
Strolling on the city streets. 
Drinking away her sorrows/worries at a local bar.
Flirting with dudes.
Visiting her boyfriend/girlfriend/husband.
Going to the movies.
Going to the club.
Gambling away her money at the casino (players or competition).
Got picked up by some young man at the market (outcomes could be variable; from happy sex to being kidnapped, raped or beat up and robbed).

i like this train of thought. a little more interaction with the girls would be nice.
if the player allows them a little money, depending on the girl she might try to find ways to make her life a little better by having a hobby, spending some of her money to relax ( in which way ever ) or maybe even try to increase her wealth by gambling. the more agressive ones might even go out and mug other people.
once a girl makes enough girl she might try to buy her freedom from the player if she doesn´t like him or got treated badly (maybe two times her basic slavemarket value?) or buy him a present to show her love for him if she got treated nicely. girls that get denied their freedom might try to buy themselves another escape with their money by hiring someone to help them, those that get set free for money might either leave or stay as non-enslaved whores in ur brothels. i asume that´s quite some programming to do, though, but it would increase fluctuation of girls a little, just as gambling them away or losing them in the arena would do. imho the game would benefit from that, a huge part of it is basically "hoarding" girls yet. :)
